> I took a screenshot of the right font that is supposed to be displayed^. The font should be muxed correctly. Are you using mpv? @Shangz I can reproduce the issue on mpv on Windows. Also happens for the OP kanji font. Digging into this a bit: ``` sub/ass: fontselect: Using default font family: (Heisei Maru Gothic Std, 400, 0) -> Cabin-SemiBold, 0, Cabin-SemiBold sub/ass: fontselect: Using default font family: (Flare Gothic, 700, 0) -> Cabin-SemiBold, 0, Cabin-SemiBold ``` Looking at `FlareGothicBOLD.ttf` in fontforge reveals the issue: the font family names are wrong. ![the font family name is "Flare Gothic BOLD", which does not match "Flare Gothic", thus the font isn't selected](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/131816223523602432/901520965694025758/unknown.png "Incorrect font family name") EDIT: the same thing happens on MPC-HC, btw.
> Are you using mpv? Yes sir
Okay so all the signs reverts to use the default font specified by user for mpv to use which is GandhiSans Bold in my case. Dunno why this is happening but maybe try adding ` \fnfontname ` to the signs next time?
BASED release... keep it up!
