Every line or so was retimed by hand to fit the BD and ended up being the main reason for this release. I have done my best to keep any sort of delay at minimum, but it's still possible that the audio differs from the video for a few ms. This will only occur (**very slightly**) in music-heavy scenes, as I didn't want to distort those and make someones ears bleed. I'm guessing this was encoded from the bdmv so why is it marked red? Was any kind of filtering done?

**@seth001** mpv supports it completely fine as far as I know. **@vikrant9760** I had to retime the audio per line, almost. Its a lot more different from the source.

**@matheousse** There is a reason why I encoded the audio **and** video. It's supposed to be a small release for the time being. FDK: To my knowledge (and ffmpeg.org), Fraunhofer is currently the highest-quality AAC encoder. Even though I had thought about going opus or even flac, that would go completely against the initial premise for a mini'-encode. One AAC track was already ~500MB as is, and spending anymore space for a web-ripped audio track is ridiculous.

fdk is fine, and ffmpeg is also fine as long as you're using fdk (or mediafoundation (aac_mf?), or whatever the command is for coreaudio). I don't really know why you didn't go with opus, though. Note: Do not download this torrent if you do not have an HDR display.

Qaac is also good for aac. just remember to never encode lossy audios to another lossy codec. (ex. aac -> opus). you should avoid that. :^)

FDKAAC with mode 5 is fine. Just don't encode Lossy audio.

Lossy to lossy is fine in some cases. For example, if there is 320kbps/channel EAC3 or something (which can happen). If the original lossy source can be said to be "bloated," I see no problem with reencoding if it's needed. And everyone's definition of bloated is different. In my case, I have done a lot of audio encoding, but I've never had occasion to encode lossy to lossy. So it should be rare. And I don't think it should have been done here on the JPN track. If you want to save on filesize, release in stereo only. I mean, do you think many people who are desperate to save filesize are going to be able to take advantage of a 5.1 track? For the audio editing, I assume you're aware that you could have losslessly spliced.

My phone has HDR display I have question, if I encode this in handbrake to smaller size then what should I do to preserve the HDR ?? Because i just don't see any option for HDR If I choose H.265 10-bit, would that preserve HDR ??

**@maroon1** If 8GB is too big I would suggest you to start removing one audio track. The 7.1 japanese one should already save you quite a bit. When it comes to handbrake, I can't really help you, as I have never used it. **@zrdb** If you aren't here just to hate, download the .flac files I have linked and stop bugging me. What some of you people seem to miss, is that this mistake was not intentional. This release isn't perfect and should only be enough until better audio options are available.

**@Simplistic** Due to the amount of cutting I had to do, I assume there aren't really any (realistic) options for this without encoding. I could have used ffmpeg and save every cut as its own file, but I wouldn't have finished that until next weekend. And yes FLAC is there to prevent loosing more quality. Ah ok, Just wanted to make sure. I was almost about to accuse you of "trying to make lossless audio" and then I realized it was probably for preventing generation loss. If I'm reading that screenshot right and there are 50 cuts or whatever, then I don't blame you for abandoning losslessly splicing. I probably would have written some sort of script to help me do the cutting, but I wouldn't expect most people to do that.

**@Simplistic** Thanks, but unless some audio editor has a feature to export cuts in such text format, this method doesn't seem to be any easier than cutting audio in CLI, every clip one by one. **@motbob** oh. May I ask in what kind of way you would have scripted more than 400 cuts? I'm genuinely wondering.

This worked out perfectly for me, I was able to mux the japanese video and this english audio (I downoaded the flac file). It must have been a fucking pain in the ass to do all that retiming. 4K wasn't for me-just 1080P is fine. Many thanks
