Source: [DRAGON_BALL_Z_S5_D4 > BDMV > STREAM > 00037.m2ts](https://nyaa.si/view/1202207) It's possible that FUNimation will eventually stop fooling around and release a definitive high definition set making the Dragon Boxes lose its value (especially to those who're holding on to them as an investment). ![alt text](https://i.imgur.com/NtnGujx.png) ![alt text](https://i.imgur.com/JdUbcnE.png) ![alt text](https://i.imgur.com/MWJ5l4w.png)

Never gonna happen. They could've done that for the 30th Anniversary and chose not to. Better hope Toei remasters the show themselves (then Funimation will take that release, denoise the footage and add fake grain in it like they always do), or a company like Discotek Media somehow gains license to DBZ one day to do a proper HD home release.

> or a company like Discotek Media somehow gains license to DBZ one day to do a proper HD home release. Too expensive for Discotek and FUNimation would never allow them to go near it. I'd love for Discotek to get it, though.
Looks like an upscale of the DBox, I can see some aliasing. Even if it didn't have aliasing, it doesn't look native res at all.
does this mean FUNimation did the upscale for selecativion's european spanish bluray?

SV's upscale looks moderately DNR'd along with other picture tweaks, so no. I do wish it looked like this, it looks a lot nicer with grain.
If they have released an SD BD instead, we could also upscale it ourselves during playing with something better than whatever they used?

That would be the best solution, but FUNi releasing an SD-BD and of DBZ? Their cashcow? One can dream. I'd love SD-BDs of Dbox Z and the Singles.
