Interesting, those file sizes are closer to something you would see on a JPN BD than a USA one.

Thanks

Don’t let the filesizes fool you. As per usual for Viz this release is absolutely atrocious with obscene amounts of banding, blocking and just all around poor compression.
It’s genuinely impressive how bad it looks.
Simplistic
Lmao, TTGA’s remux makes the file sizes look more normal, so I wonder what’s bloating the files. :thinking:

@Simplistic
The M2TS files are bloated because of CBR padding. Filler bytes are added to reach a specific video bitrate, in this case 35 Mb/s. The actual video bitrate is much lower. Around 16 Mb/s.
zrdb
No they aren’t-I downloaded it and played a couple of episodes-the average bit rate was about 32-34 mb/s. No padding here-you don’t know what you’re talking about.

@zrdb
It’s because you did not remove the filler bytes.
After remuxing the M2TS to MKV in MKVToolNix or eac3to, the average bitrate drops from 35 Mb/s to around 16 Mb/s. This is because MKVToolNix and eac3to remove the NAL units with the filler bytes.
Before (Disc 1 - 01011.m2ts)
After
You don’t know what you’re talking about as usual.

I’m not ashamed to say you were right and I was wrong. After I downloaded it all and remuxed it as I like to add or subtract audio, subtitles, etc. the individual episode m2ts dropped to about 3-3 1/2 gigs. Adding filler bytes is akin to false advertising or snake oil sales. What a bunch of bullshit!! And there was (like was mentioned above) banding up the arse-gee-do you think the low bit rate had any thing to do with that?!?!?! cynicism sarcasm

Thanks Lupin and Taskforce!

@Hi, everyone!
Does anyone have a problem with Blu-ray Menu Disc One too…? Or just me?
@taskforce (uploader) Anyway, thank you.
