Notes: The 4K Ultra HD version of Evangelion: 3.333 You Can (Not) Redo is a pretty good 2k - 4k up. The footage for this UHD is prepared for viewing in IMAX® format.
The video standard is SDR (Standard Dynamic Range) used for regular Blu-ray, but its color gamut is wider than that of regular HD (BT.709 8 bit) - this disc uses UHD BT.2020 10 bit. I cleaned the video from visible errors of 2k-4k conversion (ringing, increasing the thickness of the line art, eliminating frame flickering in several scenes, etc.), slight de-noise with de-band and detail preservation mask to prevent destruction on dark scenes. That was encoded in HEVC 10-bit with safe compression settings to produce transparent quality video.
Version V2 (rev). I found one error in the encoding script of the old version, so I redesigned the release (now the quality of the encoding is even better) and at the same time changed the English subtitles to better quality UTW-THORA (NotMyRip edit).
All previous films and the main series of the Evangelion franchise in our encoding are available here:
Evangelion 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone

could you specify what exactly you changed for v2?
thanks for the encode!
Jensen
Everything is written in the description.
I found an error in the encoding script. Due to my typo, out of three processing steps, only one step actually worked.

Thanks, is the ext 5.1 audio from the UHD disc aswell?
uberasian
Can I just mux in the other 5.1 audio from the first release to this release? Thank you.
Jensen
@gyazomember Of course, check the “Audio 5.1” folder.
@uberasian Yes, only the video and subtitles have changed.
Shugami
Damn 4K sure bring out the insane detail of it, I hope they will release 3+1 as 4K as well
ravdo
Did you forget to put in the fonts? Or the subs is supposed to look like this.
And the subs in the preview also missing.
Anyway, Thanks for the release :D
Jensen
All fonts are inside mkv. Check mi. THORA does not have subtitles for the preview of part 4 at the end of the video because this is a re-sync of the subtitle for the 2012 3.33 release.
ravdo
Hmmm, I see. I thought you’re using the one from NotMyRip (If I remember correctly, your v1 release used that and has subs in the preview and same fonts as UTW-THORA)
Jensen
No, version 1 used subtitles from SCP-2223
Whatever
Thanks.
Re:Zero S2 (Part 2) when?
gyazomember
@Jensen Thanks for the reply, but what source was used to get the TrueHD track, or even the hole movie in this encode? Since the JP UHD came with LPCM, was it converted up to TrueHD? Also FraMeSToRs REMUX release came with DTS-HD 5.1. Or is there more discs that was released alongside the JP UHD?
Jensen
LPCM → dolby media producer suite → Dolby TrueHD
gyazomember
@Jensen Ah, makes sense. Will say tho it sounded great on my Shield. So thank you.

@Shugami @SomaHeir
Thus far they have only confirmed they’re doing 4K releases of 3.333 and the final 3.0+1.0. At least that’s what was provided in the printed interview in the 3.333 physical release.

Won’t play on my NVIDIA Shield via Emby or Plex. Just crashes instantly. Transcoding does nothing.
