Video: [Beatrice-Raws](https://nyaa.si/view/1414678) Subs: Funimation I retimed the subs from scratch and removed all the stupid funimation overlap and better line breaks and merged the lines where ever it is needed. I didn't do a lot of TS since I was planning to do a watchable version but this should be good enough. I restyled to make it consistent with SallySubs. Unfortunately I couldn't get songs done. Chapters are from Beatrice-Raws. **I highly recommended you use [mpv player.](https://mpv.io/installation/)** Afterword: This will be my last public upload. In general timing an ep takes about 1-2hr depending on what you are dealing with, TS takes about 4-8hr depending on complexity and number of signs. other 2-6hr for miscellaneous stuff like songs, chapters, editing, muxing, QC. So it takes roughly about 10-15hr of work for single ep, this is pretty much the entire free time on my weekdays and I no longer have that time because of irl issues and it isn't encouraging when people constantly throw shit at you. Also people are happy with new remuxes and minis, so I no longer see a point in continuing this work for literally no gain. I wish I can say it has been fun ride but more times than not it is really stressful, especially with airings, so I will just pass the baton and relax. Thank you for all the support given throughout all this, appreciate it.

thanks gsk_kun, and rest well ^^
Thank you for everything!
Thanks for ur work till now.....Take rest
tbh i do all that stuff by myself too (plus encoding) and there's no way it should take 10-15 hours unless it's either the first episode and you have a lot of stuff to work out or there's an insane amount of typesetting, which most anime don't have. the average is probably like 4-6 hours. of course you get faster with experience/practice but still.
Thank you for what you've done over the years. Sad to see you leave this aspect of the fandom, but if it ain't fun anymore...it ain't fun anymore. Edit to respond to intervening post: Herkz...thank you ever so much for demonstrating just why people decide it's not worth the bother anymore. Twist the knife a little more as he walks out the door, why don't you?
thank you for your service and all the effort you put in o7
Gsk retired :( we lost a great fan subber. Hope we get to see more fan subber contributing on the anime community And herkz is just one man army ;)
Thanks for your work gsk

@herkz you are right. I wrote that with this ep in mind which was 1st ep. But it depends on how far you want to take as well. For example Fate grand carnival TS took 20+ hours alone on TS because I wanted to give the best for it, and sometimes I just cut corners and do a acceptable TS, so it depends. I just wanted to tell that it takes significant amount of time either way.
Thanks for everything.
I appreciate all the work you've done. it's always been worth the wait for your releases, you've made many seasonals a better and more memorable experience for me. thanks!
@gsk_ What's that mean for fruba?
Thanks for the subs over the years. It was fun working on Dororo with you.
Your tireless work will forever be appreciated

@ChaoXide I will be working on Fruits Basket for LY. It is just that you will see no more releases from me(only one exception on one show depending on how it goes). I will still be around on fixing the loose ends and complete my task for which I was assigned for various groups. @Astral yeah it was fun
Thanks for your hard work over the years! Good luck to your future endeavors, whatever they may be.
It is sad but still Thanks for the subs!
>Also people are happy with new remuxes and minis, so I no longer see a point in continuing this work for literally no gain. Most people won't see the difference between CRF15 / CRF 18, so they obviously prefer smaller file. Just look how herkz/commie keep it low with decent quality instead bloating encodes to ~2GB per episode.
I hardly ever see 2 GB per episode unless it's a BDMV remux. Also if people stopped with the flacebo meme their high-quality releases would make even more sense.
BDRemux is atleast 5-7GB per episodes (~24 minutes).
Thanks for your good work over the years!
>I hardly ever see 2 GB per episode unless it’s a BDMV remux. https://nyaa.si/view/1424464 Or even this release. It does vary with CRF/VBR but I don't think ~1.7GB is acceptable for most folks. And it's HEVC already. And, yeah, they bloat even more with useless FLAC. Like they rip music anime of some kind lol. QAAC --tvbr 127 is more than enough.
There's already plenty of BD groups that do small encodes for people who can't tell the quality difference and just want a small, "watchable" encode. If an encoder wants to do high-quality encodes where the final filesizes end up big, I see little harm in letting them do it, even if you personally don't see many quality differences. (but yes, FLAC is a meme)

Take it me easy, man.
Fansubbing is not dead yet?
Imagine complaining because a encode doesn't meet your completely arbitrary filesize standards. You people don't know the first thing about encoding yet act so high and mighty about the topic. Quit embarassing yourselves.
Sad to see you go. Thanks for all the hard work you've done until today. Stay healthy and take a good rest. We'll surely miss you!
Good luck buddy for your next journey 👍🏽
>Imagine complaining because a encode doesn’t meet your completely arbitrary filesize standards. You people don’t know the first thing about encoding yet act so high and mighty about the topic. Nah, that's not the point. And I even quoted the important part. >Also people are happy with new remuxes and minis, so I no longer see a point in continuing this work for literally no gain. I wish I can say it has been fun ride but more times than not it is really stressful, especially with airings, so I will just pass the baton and relax. I mean, you either comply or simply don't care. You know, not too many people pref. huge encodes, and that's a fact. No idea why he even cries about it. Fuck attention whores, duh.
the real encoding bloat is releasing 1080p encodes for anime made at 720p tbh (especially stuff you can descale correctly)
It is funny how you don't see people who like quality releases regardless the size complaining in small size releases, yet people who don't have the space for a good release or just can't see the difference (which is okay) always have to come to the comments of good releases and bitch about it, and then have the audacity to call others attention whores, the hypocrisy. Any way sad to see you go, thanks for all the hard work and releases!

Your retirement is as abrupt as Biden's handling of Afghanistan... :D
Happy retirement, gsk_kun. Some stuff happen IRL, but I hope you're doing well. And I wish you still have that passion for your future endeavors.
Thanks GSK for your contribution, even though I'm new to anime I've seen your work :D and enjoyed it. Arid goodluck with Genki TXT book, contact DeStiNi for help.
Thanks @gsk_. Your contributions have been appreciated.

Thanks mate. Have a good one.
herkz when someone makes a good 1080p encode of a 720p native anime ![](https://i.imgur.com/THRdMXO.jpeg)
Thanks for all the contributions over the years. You will be missed! ;-;
i feel like this comment section just proves gsk's point and somewhat validates his retirement. amazing choice of post to continue these toxic, repetitive arguments that have already been done a billion times. cant you guys just have some respect?
> amazing choice of post to continue these toxic, repetitive arguments that have already been done a billion times. cant you guys just have some respect? no, because that’s how nyaa will always be
Thanks for all you've done, I wish you the best in your future endeavors o7
Thank you for every one of your great releases.
Thanks for all your great releases, especially on Katanagatari!
>and then have the audacity to call others attention whores, the hypocrisy. Except he's crying for attention, not me. What's the point of bitching about the community under his last release lol. No one's going to praise you for editing Funi script. Even a trained monkey can do it.
thanks, have fun man.
Large releases have their place and so do small ones, let people ave their quality standards smh.
wish you all the best in your future endeavours
Thanks for your contributions to the community gsk, and enjoy your retirement! It's a shame in typical nyaa fashion the comments had to be a shitshow as well. > Also people are happy with new remuxes and minis, so I no longer see a point in continuing this work for literally no gain It's sad that you think that, but either way I appreciate everything you've done and I hope you can finally relax after "passing" this stress off.
@JizzYourYoghurtIsNotYummyAtAll Because it's the truth nowadays. Most people choose minis because it's more convenient; easier to store and download. Whether it's deliberate or not, they choose to disservice themselves by consuming an inferior product even the people in the know dissuade them not to. Quality releases are becoming more for enthusiasts, which is also a haven for toxic people in this community to shit on and to fling shit to one another. It's mentally taxing, and I believe that it's the right call to hang the gloves. Better take care of your mental health rather than please a small portion of some.
hope you have a good time relaxing
>Large releases have their place and so do small ones, let people ave their quality standards smh. I can't enjoy my 2002 animes unless I find some 2 GiB per ep shit.
Thank you, gsk!
Thank you for all the great subs!
Thanks for your work! IRL takes priority
Thank you for all your hard work over the years. Sad to see you go but life can be hard so it is understandable.
