oh no not again
get me the based department
didnt realise gjm was doing this... guess ill wait a little longer to watch episode 3
No idea why they keep taking on new projects one after another when they can't even finish off existing ones. What a chaos. Almost an year now but Kaguya is still not complete. Multiple BDs projects like OPM S2, Index 3, Accelerator, Kaguya S1 are in stall hell. Also Promised Neverland S2?
>Also Promised Neverland S2? can you really blame them for that one

@vikrant9760 Because we do what we enjoy doing. Also, BD projects are below stalled airing projects in priority. At the end of the day, this is a hobby and we treat it as such. And for what it's worth, the stalled airing projects aren't forgotten, there are reasons behind each of them.
Yeah, yeah, that's what they all say.
Different staff for different projects. One member stalls, they don't replace him/her for consistency reasons with the release. So projects stayed stalled until said person gets back to doing their thing. In the meantime the rest of the staff are freed up for other shows. In any case... it's a given by now that GJM picks up practically any new P.A. Works show. If anything it'd be more of a surprise if they didn't. Unfortunately a lot of them such as Kamisama are terrible. I doubt this one'll be the next Nagi-Asu as people are hoping.
episode 3 stall when?
another show to stall for another 2-3 years. wooo

>Because we do what we enjoy doing That is completely fair. Nobody should be subbing shows they don't enjoy. But why are you picking up those shows in the first place if you don't enjoy them? If you didn't enjoy subbing Kaguya(or any other show for that matter), why even pick it up? Before a show is released you can just take a look at the source material and see if its something staff will enjoy, watch the trailer and see if its your thing or not. But hey, its all free so I should probably just shut up right.
> Before a show is released you can just take a look at the source material and see if its something staff will enjoy Uh, the source material for Promised Neverland was great, but season 2 of the anime was garbage... So yeah, it's hard to judge whether you'll like the anime, even if you like the source material, until you get a few eps into it.
So... ending song was translated by George Henry Shaft? Interpret and rewrite with the ass?

@vikrant9760 Hey, if you want to go look after iFanz's family for him, or pay his medical bills for him, or get him a new computer after his old one blew up and he couldn't afford to fix or replace it for MONTHS, then feel free. His shows will get done in no time. Kaguya isn't stalled because we don't like it, we just don't have our man available because life is determined to ream him in the ass. But hey, do continue to go off. And that's just one example. Life doesn't revolve around anime subtitles, much as some of us would possibly like it to. @LoliSub What?
People are always too toxic here Let them do what they want at their own pace as it's not official release where one pays to watch. Think it as a hobby for others dude. If you don't like waiting watch in official subs or use other release sub if available. no one is forcing one to watch GJM
I second the above ^^
Never has a sub group had more things in common with my BP-II
this will never last.... always But thanks anyway.
Unf that typesetting
damn imagine leaking staff's personal information just to tell a troll off lmao

I know you only read like one channel on Discord Govna, but most of that's been mentioned on there by him and by us.

@GoodJobMedia: I believe LoliSub was referring to how the TL took so many creative liberties in translating the ED that it's practically fanfiction.

Oh. Well, that's categorically false so who knows what they're huffing, but at least the comment makes sense now.
It's highly likely that we won't get this as a completed subbed series. But hey, it's still better than getting nothing xD. I'm watching this weekly, so this release will come in handy if I rewatch it later. The chances are high actually.
GJM: Sitting on the beach, drawing in the sand (fine) In the place my heart belongs (fine) When the tide rolls in and washes everything away (fine) Seasons come and go as I watch the clock (questionable) And the waves wash over my toes (fine) I close my eyes, can't bear to watch the days keep passing by (Invention: "I close my eyes". Duplicates 時計の速さに気づきたくない into multiple lines) Please, just let me stay right here (fanfiction) 'Til my tears run dry (fanfiction) So that one day what I feel now can guide me (fanfiction) Ah, look at the colorful lights of the sea (fine) As they waver in time with our lives above (fanfiction) Watching a world arise out of the fog (fanfiction) Filling my life, and my heart, with hopes and dreams anew (fanfiction) I'm living my life as time drags me along (fanfiction) I can take a step back from the helm (fanfiction) Somewhere along the way, or somewhere deep in my heart (fine) I will find what I need to let my future shine (fine) I hear our beating hearts calling out into the gentle blue. (questionable)
Finally, worth a wait

>lyrical interpretation is fanfiction Nyaacomments.txt
fanfiction
>Just make it up bro, the rubes won't know the difference
How can anyone who doesn't know the language believe you if you haven't even provided the "correct" translation of those lines you call "fanfiction"
> It’s highly likely that we won’t get this as a completed subbed series. Challenge fucking accepted.
Imagine copying kanji from Lyrical Nonsense in order to lie about knowing Japanese enough to even have an opinion on the TL, while showcasing the lack of understanding the basic concept of what a translation is.
@JohnnyZB Because people will attack me on the basis of my qualifications or translation provided, which is beside the point. >Imagine copying kanji from Lyrical Nonsense in order to lie about knowing Japanese enough to even have an opinion on the TL, while showcasing the lack of understanding the basic concept of what a translation is. And so it begins.
not the least bit surprised you weren't capable or willing of providing an actual TL to prove your point and answer a valid question by Johnny. > Because people will attack me on the basis of my qualifications or translation provided, which is beside the point. You mean like you just did to GJM's TL? If you're gonna trash something at least attempt to prove you know what you're talking about. Otherwise you come off as just another toxic nyaa commenter. If you feel you can do better, apply for a fansub team, if you can prove you know Japanese well enough to pass their tests and get hired, you can improve fansubs instead of just criticizing them. Be part of the solution, not just another fly on the wall of nyaa's comment section.
fansub drama is the best drama
put me in the screencap
me too please, but blur the guy before me
You, random person, are not allowed to critique the translation of random fansubber, who was tested by other random fansubber, neither of whose credentials I know, without taking said test which, should you pass, will mean your opinion was valid all along, but if you fail, it was actually invalid and I was right.
Actually, by way of actually providing a translation, said 'random fansubber' is already more qualified than you 🙂
Up till now you haven't critiqued anything. You've just trash talked like a typical nyaa commenter. You've been asked to show a better TL, which you haven't been willing or able to do so far. You've been asked to become part of the solution instead of just another troll, yet chosen to remain the latter. You seem to have zero interest in doing anything more that trashing GJM and not even willing to put in any sort of effort to backup anything you've have claimed. I'd most certainly trust Areki, an actual certified linguistic, to know how to TL over a random Nyaa troll who copied some kanji from Lyrical-Nonsense.

Imagine a dude complain of a fansub team TL when he have zero qualification to prove himself or more like has no interest in correcting himself
another wholesome nyaa comments section i see
~~Just commenting to be in the screenshots.~~ https://i.imgur.com/krYG90k.png
wanna be part of the screenshot pls thx
In before the comment section closed. 😂😂😂
It's not like gracious They took liberty of bending translations or anything, baka.
This comment section gave me AIDS
put me in screencap
fanfiction is the only important part of the fansubbing process
Don't forget that encodes are also fanart, because if source has banding or other artifacts, that's how it's intended to look.
I will come back with my kids to enjoy this show later, thanks
Thank you for all you are doing for us. Toxicity exist in everywhere. But keep going on your own pace
I was late, darn. Imagine using translation provided by Lyrical Nonsense to "criticize" instead of using your knowledge about the language. I must say that your criticisms are wrong since I'm using a better translation provided by Google. Beat that.
Seems like a good time for me to start watching this.
as I am reading nyaa comment section : ![NA](https://www.yourtango.com/sites/default/files/styles/header_slider/public/image_blog/the-office-quotes.jpg?itok=tm3DIHnF)
the time GJM spent defending their laziness here could have been better spent actually finishing their projects :)
dove can you just like... not? what are you trying to get out of fostering animosity between subsplease and the fansubbing community?
@GoodJobMedia >@vikrant9760 Because we do what we enjoy doing I'm just replying to your reasoning which you stated is that the projects are stalled right now because you do what you enjoy. Hope iFanz gets better soon. Wishing him and his family happiness and strength to overcome any problems and struggles. In any case, I'm not trying to pick pointless arguments or trying to bash, just wanted a logical explanation as to why pick so many new projects when already multiple past ones are in stall hell. @govna Troll? I'm not a troll lol...you are. Look at your releases lmao. Imagine watching 720p in this day and age. Jesus.

@vikrant9760 What was meant by that comment is that if an interesting show pops up we're not (always) going to ignore it. We've likely both talked past each other on that point. We picked up Aquatope because several of us were looking forward to it since it was announced, but there were shows in the past couple of seasons we outright skipped because we felt we wanted to make some backlog progress instead. It's a balancing act. At the end of the day, it's a hobby and if we want to do the more fun thing first, we're going to favor it. That's all it is. Nothing's truly dead unless we say it is, it's just that not all unstalling plans for our shows have been created equal.
^ > the time GJM spent defending their laziness here could have been better spent actually finishing their projects :)
thanks for release
GJM episode 1 release are always fun to see
>dove can you just like… not? what are you trying to get out of fostering animosity between subsplease and the fansubbing community? I'm pretty sure he's just making fun of some lazy group that can't even finish a single project for shit.
Just for the record, despite my earlier comments, I think GJM's release is far superior to CR. >dove can you just like… not? what are you trying to get out of fostering animosity between subsplease and the fansubbing community? Given what happened to Godzilla S.P and Shirobako the Movie I've concluded that fansubbing is all but dead.
thanks, will watch it in 2 years after it's complete
Based release. Cringe comment section. also >subsplease
@Guncannon: What happened to Godzilla SP?
Godzilla S.P: Would have gone untranslated until Netflix released the English subs if not for MoyaiSubs, a group that normally does anime for little girls, because everyone else was scared off by the rumored difficulty of episode 1. PAS admittedly would have done it had they found a translator. Shirobako the Movie: Anonymous cartel group squatted on the "rights" by uploading their translation of the AMERICAN teaser and still hasn't done jack shit after 7+ months. This all feeds into my pet theory that modern fansubbers are afraid of completely original translations.
So Godzilla would not have been translated had it not been translated. I see.
Came here to illegally download anime, ended up getting a light novel. Two for the price of one.

We aim to please.
>a group that normally does anime *for little girls*
Biggest mystery in this thread is what's the point of criticizing someone else's translation without having mastery of the language itself in order to do so. Why do that? Example: Of course I can criticize Spanish subs of [insert show in English here], like "Oh, that's not quite right" and I can explain why, since Spanish is my L1, I've studied linguistics, and most books I've read in my life have been in Spanish. But since IDK Japanese (or Korean @ Kdramas, for that matter), I can only hope the person subbing knows what they're doing, 'cause I sure don't. I do have preferred translations of Japanese works such as the Hyakunin Isshu or The Tale of Genji, but that's because I can compare how each translator approaches a given poem or text + their comments on it (if any). But I can't take translation criticism very seriously unless the person is reasonably fluent in both languages (esp. in their literary forms); that doesn't seem to be the case here seeing as no better translation + grammatical/lexical commentary was provided.
late but still in the comments section!!! tbh, it's nice waiting instead of watching shows every week lol
and I'm here waiting for "koe no katachi" and "Tenki no Ko" to be released at any minute
Way late but not gonna leave myself out of this lol Not sure if I'll be watching this or not but it's always nice to see GJM picking up stuff I'd rather wait for them for keeping's sake and watch other subs in the meantime if they're late And thanks as usual
