So I checked out the Zero-One movie subbed by Over-Time. And most of the time I have no issues with Over-Time because, frankly, they understand what translation is all about. I've had no real issues with their Rider subs in the past and assumed the same would be true for this movie. However, I instead discovered a rather blatant speedsub filled with odd inaccuracies and strange embellishments. While the general idea still got across, there were several parts of the film where a character makes a very specific reference to something (such as an object on screen or something they had previously said) and yet the subtitles completely ignored it. Plus there were a few typos and grammatical issues here and there. So I decided, hey, I speak Japanese, I'll just go through and fix it. So I did. Changelog: >Fixed all spelling and grammatical issues >Corrected translations across entire script >Removed unnecessary script comments >Changed "Es" to "S" >Changed "Transform!" to "Henshin!" (personal preference) >Changed "Extinction Evolution" to "Zetsumetsu Evolution" (personal preference) I've decided to just release the script file this time around rather than re-releasing the entire movie. So just use mkvtoolnix to merge the script into one of Over-Time's releases, or rename it to the same filename as the video and use it as automatic external subtitles, or load it in your player of choice as a manual subtitle, whichever you choose. It's easier that way than reuploading it as its own muxed release. Enjoy!

>Changed “Transform!” to “Henshin!” (personal preference) cringe
Can we get a proper v2 fix that undoes the weeb shit but fixes all the major typos
Puts a smile on my face when I see "Henshin!" instead of "Transform!". Japan really got some words that sound better but sound stupid in english ngl.
Perhaps if you don't like the "weeb" shit, you can remove it yourself, like I normally do with Overtime's ridiculous overtranslation. It will take SECONDS to change "Henshin" back to the incredibly-awkward "Transform" that idiots like you seem to insist on. If the rest of us have to endure Overtime's bullshit, you can endure this. If you can't, then kindly get off the internet and leave space for the rest of us who don't throw a hissy fit at the slightest thing. Also, herktz, I notice that your own torrents are full of things with Japanese titles. So maybe fuck off, you massive hypocrite.

Oh wow, I recognize that name. Nice to see you again, HowlingSnail. Kind of pot-calling-the-kettle-black to be claiming others are "throwing hissy fits at the slightest thing," don't you think? Anyway, the only v2 will be if I actually made a mistake somewhere in the script. If you want to change "Zetsumetsu" back to "Extinction" and "Henshin!" back to "Transform!" it's really simple. Open the file in Notepad, click Edit->Replace..., then put the "weeb" word in the top field and the "English" word in the bottom field and hit "Replace All." Et voila.
Why, after Is, Was, and As, would you think Es is a letter and not Spanish for is?

That one was actually a tough decision for me. I ended up going with what I saw Japanese media regarding the film use. Unlike most characters that Toei has actual text for, his name only ever appears in official documents as the Katakana エス. So it was either Esu (in keeping with Izu/Azu), Es (possibly), or S (possibly). I went with the last one. For me it really was a toss-up. I didn't see any evidence for it being a reference to "is," so I stuck with 'S'.
Says weeb shit, still watches Kamen Rider. Interesting.
So all you did was take a good translation and turn it into a weaboo tv-nihon bullshit sub

Drakkhen, if you thought Over-Time's translation was good, you don't really understand the source language. Over-Time's translation wasn't bad because they wrote "Transform!" and "Extinction Evolution." It was bad because they actually got a ton of lines throughout the script just plain wrong. Again, feel free to swap the phrases you don't like out. It's not hard.
>You're still conscious in here? -> You're able to remain conscious in this world? >How strange... -> What a rare person to see. >I'm taking that Key before you destroy the world! -> Hand over the key designed to destroy the world! >There's a human brain connected to their server. -> They've gone and connected a human brain to their server. >That Key opens the way to paradise! -> That key is necessary to create paradise! >So I can assume that you were manipulating AI-controlled avatars, correct? -> So I can assume that you were manipulating AI-nanomachine avatars, correct? Must have been hard work making the script actively worse. Good job.

Thanks Petsnew, I pride myself on it. You’re still conscious in here? -> You’re able to remain conscious in this world? The line was translated directly here. While it's definitely a minor change, I stuck a little closer to what Akane actually said. How strange… -> What a rare person to see. Akane literally says '珍しい人' here. While again, the general idea still comes across with Over-Time's version, my version includes the implication Akane used by including 人. I’m taking that Key before you destroy the world! -> Hand over the key designed to destroy the world! This was a pet peeve; 世界を滅ぼすキー is a noun; Aruto is directly referring to "The key that will destroy the world," AKA the Hellrising Hopper progrise key. Over-Time instead changed it so that the part about destroying the world was referring to S's plan instead of the key itself. There’s a human brain connected to their server. -> They’ve gone and connected a human brain to their server. This is because Horobi uses やがった. He's expressing displeasure at seeing a human brain connected, rather than the concept of randomly stumbling upon it. That Key opens the way to paradise! -> That key is necessary to create paradise! Over-Time's wasn't too bad here; I changed it to 'create' because throughout the script 楽園を創造する is used for 'genesis' and 'creation' and references the 'Creator'. So I can assume that you were manipulating AI-controlled avatars, correct? -> So I can assume that you were manipulating AI-nanomachine avatars, correct? Over-Time's translation implies that the avatars are controlled by AI. This is factually incorrect. My translation was what was actually said; that the AI-equipped nanomachines are turned into avatars controlled by the Thinknet users.
Uh, the point is that your changes read like garbage

And you are entitled to your opinion, that's totally fine. No one's forcing you to use these subs, I just put them out there in case someone wants something that's closer to the actual original intent. I'm also more than happy to explain why certain decisions were made, and willing to make corrections if actual mistakes were made somewhere. For example, if it comes out that 'S' is in fact 'Es', that's the first thing I'd change. But until then, well, carry on, sir.
Yeah, this is literally better than Over-time's sub. They literally dropped the ball on this one.

So if you're a burger, just a heads up that Zero-One and REALxTIME are available on bluray. You can buy it on Amazon; it's $43 for the whole series and the movie. Comes out January 25 2022. Highly recommended. Shout Factory's subs for Kuuga were fantastic, so I can only imagine they'll be fantastic for the series and movie as well. Plus you'll be supporting the expansion of Kamen Rider in the US!
