[Truck'd] Slime Taoshite 300-nen, Shiranai Uchi ni Level Max ni Nattemashita (I've Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level) - 01 (WEB 1080p) [7E73179F]
Beep beep.
[If this is supposed to be a joke](https://slow.pics/c/oMx2y7qV), [I'm not laughing](https://www.diffchecker.com/bm8E6kzD), Chihiro.
I was being lazy and somehow you're *still* lazier. Quite impressive, and frankly disappointing. Doubly so because you had a full team and I was solo.
Please, actually bring substantial improvements or changes if you're doing a simulcast show. It's not the 2000s anymore. People deserve better.
Hopefully lighting up a fire under your butt will get you to try harder next time so I can drop this.
EDIT:
I will now be overseeing the editing for the Chihiro release. This project is thus dropped.
Some may be upset, but I'd rather see if I can help improve other groups than solely focus on my own clique and nothing else.
(Also uni is murdering me, so no time for more anyway so it was likely going to get dropped anyway sooorrryyyyy xd)

If Chihiro substantially improves, I have no real reason to continue. I'm not holding my breath, though. Else I plan on continuing this, assuming the show doesn't jump the shark.
holy shit, I regret not thinking of that tag now. Anyway, I'll continue being lazy, so stalls shouldn't be *too* bad next week (assuming I'm not so lazy that I don't even start working on it until later like this week)
Yes it's bad but it's not that bad, not hadena level in the slightest. I also don't think it's laziness but incompetence (no offense; I don't think their typesetter is good enough). You could offer them some help if that's the case.
The script is way more interesting to me, and it seems like yours reads and flows better (without word repetitions, too).
Hello LightArrowsEXE, and thank you for your criticism. While I do not agree with many of your editing changes (though that's not to say all - for instance, "some kind of money" to "some kind of currency" is a great change we will implement in our batch/BD fixes and possibly patch for a v2), I do 100% agree with your assessment on the typesetting not being up to your standards. I will inform you that this is not a result of laziness (I spent at least 5 hours on the signs) but instead of incompetence on my part. I am an encoder and kfxer by nature and do the TS out of necessity, having horrific font matching abilities. Apparently the colors are off too which after discussion appears to be a monitor issue on my end - I have a new one on order to be delivered on Wednesday. The only sign which may have been better had I put more time (as opposed to lacking in competence) in it is the one with Azusa's abilities, where I could've used more \clip points on 2 of the boxes to better emulate a curve instead of my standard 8.
I have contacted one of the more competent typesetters in the group about redoing 01's signs since my efforts were clearly not up to snuff.
Rather than issuing competing releases in this fansub scene where only 1-3 shows get even an attempt at a fully typeset/kara'd release, would you perhaps be interested in joining us for typesetting purposes? We could really use an active typesetter to lower my overall burden. If you're interested, please join our discord at https://discord.gg/ZRNDEPr
If not, please do not be afraid to contact us with any criticism at any time. I am not the same person of 4 years ago who tried to excuse the not-so-good as good, but rather one who is trying to change and improve to overall contribute to the scene.
Hey Chihiro, thanks for the response. I should probably publicly note that my comments weren't made specifically out of ill will towards your group in particular, your group just so happened to do a show I was subbing and I saw a lot of recurring problems that a lot of older groups still face in current-day releases (another example would be Doki with Magia Record, which I also subbed, for instance) both in regards to typesetting and imo how a translation is treated. Ultimately, I want every group to bring out their best and prove to be an actual improvement over simulcasts, and I simply thought this wasn't it.
Concerning the editing, for me it's a case of "This is supposed to be a fun show to watch. If the script is stilted (even if as a result it's 'more accurate' to the original text), it makes for a worse release to sit through and doesn't properly convey the original lines the way they were meant to be conveyed to the original audience". Ultimately, anime is a form of entertainment, and the original lines were written to be entertaining to sit through for a viewer. Because of this, I'm a fairly liberal editor myself, and I understand that at least that is a fair contention if your goal is more direct translation (although I'd argue that focusing on being more literal can be akin to a translation error—For example, "slow life" does not mean the same thing in English as it does in Japanese, and I don't believe it should be kept as-is just because it's wasei eigo). Will be contacting you on Discord
