This release should be Plex ready for most anime agent + scanner combinations so you shouldn't have to change anything to get it all detected correctly. Jellyfin guys, I'm sorry I haven't figured it out enough to see what would work and what wouldn't. ## Predictive Q&A: **This release is too big for me, will you encode a smaller version?** I planned on doing that but decided not to compete with the neoHEVC release. Their is acceptable quality for its size. You can just take the Subs from this release and insert them there if you want Commie subs to be synced for all seasons or want some other subs that release doesn't have. **Why OPUS, why not just leave it in FLAC?** You should not be able to hear a difference unless you have great hearing, a good audio system, are paying attention specifically to the sound, and replay segments multiple times for comparison. Also, it shaves about 15GB off the final size. FLAC OST should also not be that hard to find and I think your bits and bytes are better spent there. **Why use VCB-studio as the source, aren't there better alternatives?** I wanted to achieve a good balance of size vs quality, as I said my initial plan was to transcode the video aswell, but transcoding would result in extra quality loss making encodes of mid sizes inefficient. Releases from Reinforce, Beatrice-raws, Maji-raws, Moozzi2 and some others were harder to obtain and considerably larger, especially for earlier seasons, some of them also feature filtering which at times seems slightly excessive to my eye. VCB-studio gives a look closer to original BD quality which might look slightly worse than nicely filtered video but I wanted to keep visual consistency across all seasons so I decided this was a good balance of consistency, size, and overall quality. **Aren't there already plenty of competing releases?** Yes, I just don't think any of them are particularly good. I have not actually watched symphogear yet, I just got frustrated with existing releases so I made my own. If you want it done right, do it yourself kind of approach. **Why did you include the subs separately?** I couldn't find a place where all the subs had good BD sync, included typesetting, didn't have any additional errors, and/or didn't require +100GB in downloads. You don't need them as all of the subtitles are already in the .mkv files, but they are here in case somebody needs/wants them. **Some of the subtitles listed have known issues, did you do anything about it?** I tried fixing some of the mistakes I've seen mentioned like Dienhelm --> Dienheim, homonculus --> homunculus, Dyciphine Barrier --> Die Spinne Barrier. I, however did not alter the official subs from Crunchyroll. I am not good enough in Japanese nor familiar enough with the anime to make my own corrections so I avoided looking too much into stuff I could change. If someone wants to do QA perhaps that will be easier now that the subs are in one place. **Why are song lyrics X not subtitled?** Some of them aren't translated with that release at least that I could find. S02E02 start for example is only on Crunchyroll subs. Making a flawless version of subtitles with all of the translations, updated terminology, great consistency across all seasons, good typesetting and spot on timing may be an undertaking for someone else on another day. I just did my best to compile existing subtitles into a presentable format. **S03E02 H&D is missing typesetting at 10:08?** I couldn't find it, it was already missing from their original DDL. There may be other cases of missing typesetting I didn't catch, feel free to let me know. **What happened to some attack signs in H&D subs?** I don't know why not all of them are translated, I tried to sync existing ones but did not make any new ones. **X subs are better than Y subs, why are they lower on the list or not default?** I decided to keep Track ID consistent across all seasons if someone wants to remove or change default subs. Commie is not default because they didn't do BD timing for later seasons and I have more faith in Deetruck's release as I couldn't reasonably check every single subtitle of every season for timing on my own. (complete files with chapters and added anonymous subtitles have been added) * GX Specials filenames contain ACC instead of AAC, just rename them if it bothers you.
