What's the difference between this release and Datte13's release (https://nyaa.si/view/1339658), other than the subs? - Both use Beatrice-Raws video - Both include two audio streams (Japanese + English); each is 6.1 audio, 48 kHz/24-bit, FLAC But Datte13's release is 11.2 GiB while this one is 9.5 GiB. Where's the file size difference coming from?

It appears his FLAC tracks are a lot larger. Mine are 1.3 and 2.8 GB, while his are ~3 GB each.

I play the file but I only hear background noises and some sound effects and music, no subs. Am I doing something wrong? I'm new here, sorry.

The audio is surround sound, you need to make sure your video player is downmixing it so everything is audible. If subs aren't showing, that's also a sign you don't have the right video player. What are you using?

I'm using VLC. Should I use something else?

Go to Audio > Stereo Mode and make sure you either have Stereo or Headphones selected. Then go to Subtitles > Sub Track and make sure the first track, ENG Thora (Modified) is selected. Personally I would use either mpv or MPC-BE as a video player, but they take a bit of time and effort to use properly. If you care a lot about getting good video quality, look up a MPC-BE + MadVR install guide.

I tried out MVP and it crashed when I tried to drag n' drop the file. MPC-BE Said it couldn't render it. Bummer. VLC is not being cooperative with the audio controls, it is not allowing me to change the stereo settings. VLC Now refuses to play the file, it just stops playback.

@mcbaws21 @Name42 Datte13 uses the very poorly compressed flac as his primary japanese dub, about english one im thinking its just coalgirls bloat as this is what datte13 stated as source.

I don't think it's on nyaa. I've only been able to find it on AnimeBytes. his video isn't that great anyway, he's said so himself.
