![](https://cdn-eu.anidb.net/images/main/64747.jpg) The BDMV is pretty poor. The edges are completely and utterly fucked, randomly becoming worse on concurrent frames and only on random areas, the banding is really bad in certain cuts, and there's ugly noise over it. Special thanks to anon for buying the BDs and sharing the NC m2ts files with me. Filtering includes the following: detelecining (since for some reason it was telecined). Luckily the patterns are consistent throughout the entire thing, so this was very trivial to do. Filling margins + bbmod with an expression to try and forcibly fix (parts of) the edges. This was later slightly cropped because the worst of it was simply unsalvageable and persisted throughout the clip. Relatively strong BM3D is performed afterwards, as well as two forms of debanding. The "standard" debanding uses a maxm/minm mask to severely limit its destructiveness on textures and edges. The stronger debanding involves strong placebo debanding with a diff to try and restore wiped textures afterwards. It's far from perfect, but largely improves upon the perceivable quality for your average viewer. Afterwards dynamic graining is applied. Descaling this was unfeasible because of the fucked edges and general starvation. I also tried to perform stronger AA on a cut in the OP's chorus to deal with awful lineart, but it didn't prove fruitful unfortunately. This is also the first of my HEVC encodes. I last tested it out back in 2018 and was far from impressed with the results. However, with more and more encoders I trust adopting it now, I'm willing to test it out more now and am honestly surprised with how much better it seems to preserve stuff like textures and grain than it did for me back then. Expect me to do more HEVC encodes for the foreseeable future, as OPMan is usually my experimental playground for testing out stuff either way. Requests are welcome, but don't count on me to follow through with yours from the get-go. A sheet with links to all my releases, as well as OP/EDs I plan on encoding, can be found [here](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1VYJymlJMgQG36upLIT_P_evI5mUkEYnmAcg06Z0P28U/edit?usp=sharing).
