All video on the internet is lossy, this encode just happens to be bigger. But no matter how big encode it is, it's still lossy and source video is better.
I'm aware that the smaller TS rip itself isn't truly lossless, but seeing as this is a re-encode of that, I referred to that TS file as the original.
I'm asking why as in, what's the point of this re-encode. Why the bigger file size for worse quality?
Won't HEVC also have worse compatibility issues? Not that well versed in video stuff, is there something obvious I'm missing here?
