@DontAsk
The subs were compiled from a lot of different groups, even in the sources I linked. You can check those for more information. The style might vary but I believe these are the best subs available.
I don't know, my issue with these subs, at least as far as I've gotten (the second episode) is more that it seems insulting to my intelligence as it feels like it's written for someone with the reading comprehension of a 4th grader... Also as such I feel like I'm missing a lot of the nuance that I would have been getting if the grammar wasn't so limited.
Maybe this was an issue with ALL the sources that you used, but that seems highly unlikely.
To add to the previous post, in the section of the second episode where he is trying to get permission from his parents and grandfather to be a mangaka the wording makes it seem as if his grandfather is his dad.
Also watching the third episode now and they are at the MC's deceased uncle's studio and they keep using present tense when looking through the things left in the studio "he has" when it should be past tense "he had". Most of this is coming from the MC's friend so he has no emotional connection that would make him want to use present instead of past tense.
There is yet another issue with the translation calling manga rough drafts "names" which makes absolutely no sense in english.
