Orphan presents the first English version of the 2003 TV special Tako ni Natta Okaasan (The Mother Who Became a Kite). This is the second show in Shin-Ei Animation’s Sensou Douwa (War Fables) series. It is based on a short story by Nosaka Akiyuki, who also wrote The Grave of the Fireflies. It is as emotionally devastating as the other specials in this series.
