Since no one bothered in nearly 2 months, I’ve ripped and encoded ShiningFinger’s BDMV release.

HowUnfortunate
I am no expert but the reason no one bothered earlier may be because iirc the Usbd for Higurashi looks pretty awful compared to jp dvd and sdbd.
That being said what’s the point of dual DTS lol? 80% of the size is audio bloat.
Mizerka (uploader)
not compared them side by side, but from a quick look bd does seem better than 480p dvd, and 300mb isn’t exactly bloat, you can remux it out if you want, it came with bdmv so I included it.
just throwing it out there if anyone wants it, if someone knows they don’t want it, then that’s all good. mostly did it to reduce 230GB bdmv rip down to 32 with no/minimal quality loss.
actual bd had all sorts of messed up meta. some eps are marked as eng, signs are missing.

Keeping the audio as DTS is beyond dumb. It’s nothing but bloat. If the video is that starved, you’re better off on using AAC. For fucks sake. The audio alone is 16GB. And yes, the 1080p version for this is just a terrible upscale.

Or use OPUS at 192kbps for each stereo pair. So, 192 for stereo, 384 for 5.1, and so on.

Unfortunately you seem to have missed out the font attachments.
Based on the content of the subtitle files, the release is partially based on the one by [Dragon-Releases], but I have some files from that and it’s not quite the same - there’s a 1-second offset, and more importantly, the referenced fonts are different.
From your release, episode 9 (trimmed):
But from [Dragon-Releases] (trimmed):
Do you still have your sources? I’m trying to find the right ones, but I’m really struggling. They’re not the same as the ones from the Cleo release, either.
