You've probably seen my explicit distaste for the series as a whole, especially the last season, but you seem to hold it in high esteem. Why is that? Do you just self-identify in Hachiman, as most fans apparently seem to do? Are your nostalgia glasses making you remember it fondly? I am genuinely curious.

I'm sorry if you watched Oregairu and weren't able to get anything interesting from it. I originally fell in love with the show because Hachiman's character seemed carefully constructed to be an answer to the classic problem of "how do we write a show where girls are interested in the MC but he never notices." The most popular "solution" to that problem is to have the MC just be dense, but the nice-girl-aversion Hachiman built up from middle school was rather more interesting.

motbob thought hachiman was a great take on the What's an Actually Cool Guy Like trope that exists in movies. He knew that if only he were as cool as batman he could get a girl like his little sister to fuck him.

@motbob Thanks for the answer. I wish I could still say the same about this series, unluckily for me once I grew older I couldn't find any enjoyment in it. And even the first season that I held in high regard, quickly became a source of cringe-inducing dialogue. I guess this is fine, perhaps that's simply the physiological phase of growing out of your once-lovable passions.
