Thank you for releasing in SD resolution as well. I noticed you made a post about this on your website but I'm not using Disqus to be drowned out on a sea of comments from uninformed underage idiots. If I could just make a point for releasing videos in SD resolution, people seem to forget that data caps and throttling are still a thing. People that live in places that have terrible speed will not be able to download 1080p/720p, and speaking as someone that once lived with 5mbps up/down speeds for a few years it's greatly appreciated to have the option of downloading things in lower resolutions/filesizes when streaming videos is a pain. If you guys wanna replace HS as the de facto ripping group you should most definitely keep doing SD releases as well.
5mbps is slow as hell but still doable for 720p.
You still need to wait more to download the file. And 5mbps was the best case scenario, people still have slower speeds believe it or not. I don't get why people are so adamant about them doing SD as well. HS was the only group that did it and no one complained. I also forgot to mention that there are toasters out there that can't handle 720p. So SD would be the only option in that case as well.
SD is awesome who gives a s**** if it's 2020 never dl HD or 1080p and never will it's just a bloated file size that you wll delete right away after watching not worth it for a 24 min episode might as well stick to streaming then. If you dl to have for offline either to rewatch the whole thing or a few scenes just to remember if you forgot SD is better since you won't depend on the net or waste time trying to find it and redl it. Thank you for doing it I just hope that the size wont increase again it already doubled since last year on HS.
@Hermandshot Aren't mini-encodes better for people like that?
@SD4ever_HDNever SD is awesome.. are you serious.. lol SD anime is a waste of bandwidth
@Hermandshot thats no excuse, I live in the arsehole of nowhere and my download speed is 5mb in good days and 3mb in other days, I still download HD anime.
if you have data caps, i would suggest changing your ISP and if you don't have any good alternative, find a better place to live because you're being ripped off
>Aren’t mini-encodes better for people like that? 100% yes since funi and CR both bloat their encodes considerably
@booman Yes, those are also an option as well but I think it's better to still have SD encodes available for all the reasons I've already listed and because since it comes from a trusted uploader, there will be more seeders for a longer period of time, as opposed to red encodes that will usually not maintain a high seed count as time goes on. @Nokou It's not an excuse. There are still people that live in places that have terrible speeds and on top of that have a toaster that can't handle HD video. In that case having an SD option would be a good option since it won't take hours to download. And in the case of data caps, your best option would be to download the smallest file available. I don't get why people are so anal about having SD encodes on top of the 1080p & 720p options lmao. It's not like the SD version is replacing those. If you don't like it, just download your bloated 1080p video and keep believing the lie that it's better than 720p.
@Hermandshot wait genuinely wondering here, how is 1080p not better quality for some shows? aren't some anime "made for" 1080p (w/o upscale)?
**@rusty_mst** Oh man, this SD argument... Some anime are natively 1080p. Sword Art Online and Made in the Abyss have a 1080p native resolution in most scenes. However, most anime is natively 720p, and the 1080p is an upscale. Hermandshot is wrong, as it's untrue that everything is natively 720p.
@Ingenioussubs thanks for clarifying!
Thank you, Erai-Raws. The people complaining about SD releases are just complaining to make themselves "feel better". Why can't these people just stay on their lane, lmao?
@Hermandshot Well looks like you're at the mercy of these selfish retards who don't even download 480p but have so much to say in regards to it while not giving a single shit on those folks who rely on it and the very minor whom voiced on why they download it as you've done. >Some anime are natively 1080p. Sword Art Online and Made in the Abyss have a 1080p native resolution in most scenes. @Ingenioussubs That's like saying an anime was done in 1080p than elaborating that the credits were in 1080p. Cheap and misleading argument. It either is fully or it isn't. @iqfqrzlu Either you're rich, had others do the hard work or you've never moved before as it's costly to move especially if you're poor. Consider never posting such a dumb ass comment again. Majority of ISP rip people off and the governments allow it since they're corrupt.
encoding isn't important part of fansubbing anyway
is it from funimation? iirc funimation sd reso is 360p
^ Funimation also offers in 540p, which is about the size of Crunchyroll's 480p.
@Hermandshot, i am also usually download 480p, but your reasoning about speed is just lol. 5mbit is just 5-15 min for episode, i lived in past about a year with 32 _kbit_ speed - it's about 6-10 _hours_ for episode.. this is long, but 10 minutes..
Please make it 480p not 540p
^ Funimation does not offer 480p. Its either 360p or 540p for SD releases.
