Tweaked TS a bit to be more presentable (blur, layer etc). Timing is pretty horrendous but due to lack of time I didn't do it. Dialogue styling is from Elysium. Changed few EDs styling. ANE was missing chapters so I made them. I didn't want to make this a new project but as I was doing for my watch and ended up spending a good amount of time in doing this, so decided to share it.

Yeah, OC means shifting the subs to fit the normal encode i.e Opening and ending is actually present in one file, so that is what I meant there xd

it's an insanely hard to translate anime, so i don't know why that's a big surprise. although the official subs sucking as much as they do is a bit of a shame.

Well, the novels got entirely translated as of the end of august 2020, let's hope someone can cross-reference them and put up a good translation. But anyway, even with a bad fan/official translation, I've not seen any quality encodes. While the translation is definitely the most important part, a good release all around which makes do with the available subs would be a big improvement over ANE from 8 years ago.

Thanks for the release! What was wrong with Elysium and ANE's releases (besides ANE missing chapters)? Were the coalgirls subs better than mazui's?

@Arcus_Deer Elysium and ANE were straight up Mazui sub's with styling as only change. Coalgirls is also based on Mazui but slightly fixing some typos and some TS corrections. @Interruptor Yeah, that is why I didn't put my usual effort in this. That said if anyone can give a good encode I will do a proper release.

@gsk there was a cut episode where shichika fighting the sharpest sword owner which can even slice ocean in two but never aired, instead we have a skip conclusion. Whenever there's a katanagatari thread on /a/, there bound to be some anon posted the fighting .gif

@palunglaut Interesting. Was it 4th ep where he fights Japan strongest? Because I felt eh at the end of the ep. BTW was it removed in BD and did TV had it? @SomaHeir No 1080p, sorry. I don't plan to do anything with the current encode and this show really needs a better release imho.

@gsk nada, the TV version also dont have it. I watched it when Mazui still exist, they did the TV version.

There is no missing episode, it was an actual troll by Nisioisin while writing the novels. He teased the biggest match ever at the end of the 3rd book and then, at the start of the fourth, summarized it briefly. He just wanted to fuck with the readers by willingly omitting the fight with the strongest katana wielder.

Thank for this. This is probably the biggest overlooked and underrated shows out there as it was one of the top shows in 2010 but no one really talks about it any more
