I've noticed that over the last few years, file sizes are bloating up like week dead roadkill.
I know its in pursuit of crystal clarity, but considering 2 aspects, 1) It's animation, not high
definition camera work, and 2) The human eye can only perceive a limited range of color and
definition.
[LostYears] very good quality, but is there any consideration for also releasing a 720 and 1080 version?
Many can't spare 1.5GB for a single episode. A more space conservative version would be greatly appreciated.
Unfortunately, it's not feasible for us to spend time on multiple resolutions per episode or fixing subtitle issues that come from resampling the subtitles for a different video resolution. Nor is it feasible to seed long time from multiple boxes for multiple resolutions of each show as we already have to terminate older shows from the seedboxes to make room for new shows as it is and it's just not affordable to us to purchase more seedboxes for that. We also have no intention of sacrificing quality for size so we won't do encodes smaller by sacrificing visual quality. Fortunately for people that have a problem with that there are multiple mini-re-encode groups that take our release and re-encode it into bitrate starved encodes (often in hevc too!) for a smaller file size.
@LostYears thanks for the awesome anime, keep em coming.. lol
@Foxxfuzz why not just re-encode these your self, then you can set the size and quality that suits you..
