New Game! Season 1 (2016) Nep_Blanc already has a great very similar x265 release but no season 2. However I didn't want to do season 2 without doing season 1 first. So here we are. Note that only the English track is 5.1, the Japanese track is stereo. All episodes encoded at CRF 16. A/V Source: Anti-Raws BD Remux Subtitles: [Nep_Blanc (Doki)](https://nyaa.si/view/1008515) ``` Complete name : New.Game.S01E02.1080p.BluRay.10-Bit.Dual-Audio.FLAC5.1.x265-YURASUKA.mkv Format : manga sub ? anime sub ? anyone can explain to me these subtitles means ?
The subs come with different translations for the characters name. Anime: Official romanization of characters names (on how the author wanted it) http://newgame-anime.com/character/ Manga: Based on Doki's translation of the names prior before the official release of the characters name was revealed in romanization. https://doki.co/2016/10/17/new-game-bd-vol-1/ https://doki.co/2016/07/12/new-game-02/ >Harg: What’s the difference between the names? >>Ero_Yatsu: Different styles of romanization. Eg: Anime: Ko Manga: Kou Anime: Hazime Manga: Hajime. Loads of people bitched about the Anime romanizations. >Scarredbushido: is there a reason why they did this? >>mogu: Why we did it? We didn’t use the official versions for the manga because they’re difficult for an English speaker to understand in pure text form. That’s not as much of a problem when there’s audio with it, so we went with the official for the anime. Why did the author do it? Because there is no officially mandated way to romanize things, and numerous acceptable ways of doing so. The author chose to go with a way that is not as popularly known in the West, but still entirely acceptable. His choice was possibly based on how the names look written that way. So it’s somewhat like an English author deciding to write a name Kris instead of Chris.
