Akumatsu Translations here, gonna give a little bit of background info on this one since there's next to nothing online about this in English otherwise. Little Village People was a TV anime that aired from September 6th to December 13th 2008 on MTV Japan. The director of the series, Hideyuki Tanaka, was also the Chief Director of 2000's "Oh! Super Milk-Chan." Likewise, the visuals are very similar and take heavily from Tanaka's art style. Prior to the start of this project, there was zero information on this series in English, and rather sparse info in Japanese, and the only rips were a couple youtube copies of VHS/off-air recordings. I was very lucky to meet another fan of Super Milk-Chan and Tanaka's art however, that could afford to import and rip all 3 DVDs of the series. As such, I'm aiming to translate all 15 episodes regardless of how long it takes. The show itself has the rather unique format of, focusing on three sets of main characters, with each set of three episodes set at the same time, from three perspectives. This first episode, for example, centers on "Michiro" and "Yuuya", whereas the next two will be the same exact event, from the perspective of other people in Penguin Village (Hence: "Little Village People"). Much like milk, much of the humor is built upon Pop-culture references of the time, or, the rather dry delivery of many jokes. If you're at all a fan of that show's comedy, this one, while tonally different, carries a lot of the same content. I hope any of you that watch really enjoy it, and look forward to more episodes. I'll also at some point be Translating the info from the show's website, and, various blog posts from people who worked on the show. Until then though, enjoy!
thank you, seems like it is interesting show!
