**`Yup, we're doing this again. This time it's cropped though. fabrebatalla18 showed me the trick to cropping exactly right. Thanks dude.`**
`Now, I know what you're all thinking: Is this guy insane enough to encode the entire Spanish version again, now that he knows how to crop the way he wanted?`
`The answer might surprise you`

Allow me to explain. The first batch of Inuyasha is out in the US. I was surprised to learn that it includes the intact opening. So, this warrants a new encode. Quality wise, it's pretty much identical to the Spanish version. But the subtitles are internal PGS. They did make some small modifications to them, but not many improvements. Please understand that it will take a long time for the entire series to be out in the US. If you can't wait, grab the previous batch. Enjoy.
there are 720p BDs because that's the only way you can do >30 fps. it's decently common for sports content since the FPS matters far more than the resolution.
>@herkz can you show me some example of the oficial BD in 720p? I’ve always wondered if they really existed
like i said, sports content. there's a decent amount of sports documentaries that are 720p and 60 fps. 30 for 30 is probably the most popular one. that one even broadcasts on TV at 720p and 60 fps.
Here's a sports Blu-ray in 720p: https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/2016-World-Series-Collectors-Edition-Chicago-Cubs-Blu-ray/164094/
Given that there's 480p/576p Blu-rays, then 720p shouldn't be much of a surprise, but still kinda cool to see it exists.
> Quality wise, it’s pretty much identical to the Spanish version.
Not true. VIZ can't encode. Interlace artefacts all over the place, and the video is jerky because it hasn't been decimated properly.
The levels are the least of my worries... But at least the clean opening and ending are safe from their fuckery in regards interlaced frames and decimation.

Don't get me wrong DmonHiro, I love you, but it's kinda weird that you've been encoding for almost 10 years and still don't know how to crop properly :D
@iXeN
US BD is garbage-tier encode that isn't even worth half what it costs to buy. That's the difference. Companies like Viz and Funimation and their god-awful encoding process (whatever the fuck it is) are partly why anime piracy is still a practice with older adults like me who have plenty of disposable income. By giving those companies money I'm merely supporting an industry that mistreats their licenses and release sub-par work. Fansubs and fan-encodes are always the best way to go if you actually want a high-quality experience.
I feel like it's going to be a while before western anime licensors finally listen to Gabe Newell's advice on combating piracy - "Offer a better service than the pirates. People will pay if you do a better job than the pirates."
when people ask why the US release is shit just look up the blu ray on amazon and read the 2nd most popular review
"They really messed this one up.
The colorspace is incorrect, and every single color is completely wrong and displayed wrong. The video is an SD rec.601 colorspace, when it should be rec.709, and all of the colors display wrong as a result. I have no idea how they could have made such an amateurish mistake.
They deinterlaced it poorly and there are leftover interlace artifacts all over the lines. Every second, a single frame is missing or stutters, and the video motion skips instead of staying smooth. Most likely a side effect from the poor deinterlacing.
Aside from those two big issues, it looks fairly nice. The Spanish Blu-Rays are better video quality though."
Thank you so much for taking the time to remaster the series yourself
English audio when?
Thank you for the nostalgia!
But for some reason the subtitles don't load (or seem to work period, everything in my player is ticked correctly), I'm using the combined community codec pack as my default player. What is everyone else using?
