Awesome! Does anyone, by any chance, have the WF subs for this season at hand? The torrent that I found here with the 12 EPs they released for this season is only hardsubbed, with the rest made by Nuke softsubbed (minus OPs / EDs), which I already ripped myself.
@TheDimensioner I'm guessing if you want the subs for those 12 episodes by WF you'll have to OCR them yourself using the avi files. It's a tough job but considering the fact that you already have Nuke's subs, it's just a matter of time and patience to make a modern decent release of this series.
@peachflavored Well, I've only done OCR for Blu-Ray and DVD subs, and only for translating to own language (pt-BR). But I'm too lazy to go through with stuff like this; I've done Kimagure Orange Road up to EP 9, and stopped XD. Releases for School Rumble in pt-BR are also hardsubbed, and I wanted the subs mostly for "retrofitting" them to be able to watch on my Nintendo Wii connected to a 29" CRT. That's the only big screen that I can use whenever I want here at home, and I usually make subs bigger and overall higher for easier reading on that TV.
@TheDimensioner In all my releases (I like picking more old and/or obscure anime) I had to OCR pretty much everything so I'm not strange to hard work like this. :) 12 episodes it's not that bad considering the rest is already done. I'd consider doing this but School Rumble is still in my "to watch" backlog so it's a no go for me now. Also, I've translated a few things to my own language which is PT-PT.
@peachflavored This is my second time watching this series, actually. I've had a good release in my language for both seasons, but I lost it, and now it's only available on trackers which I don't have enough ratio for downloading. Luckily, those releases were already based on these English subs, so, it's very close from what I remember. It's always like that, though; it's very rare to find a fansub with a good Japanese translator, and that's sort of odd, because Brazil has the second largest Japanese population from immigration descendants in the world... Guess most of them aren't fond of the anime culture XD. But I've also done a few things for a fansub here, around a year ago. I loved translating, but I have a serious problem at finding the correct terms in my language, which sometimes took me more than half an hour for translating a single line... But that's my own fault, because I never did much reading, not even at school (Machado de Assis bored the hell out of me XD), so my vocabulary is now really poor.
@TheDimensioner yeah, Brazil has a lot of Japanese descendant people, something that here in Portugal it's not common. Same goes for translations, there's not a lot of people with knowledge of the language to deliver a solid translation but there are a few good ones. In my case I usually translate from English, Spanish or French into Portuguese since I'm pretty proficient with those ones and have been doing it for quite some time. But if I have to make a choice when it comes to anime I usually go for English, it's more accessible to a wider audience in general.
