Sword Art Online Alicization - War of Underworld Video Tracks : X265 10bit Video Source : U3 Project Audio Tracks : AAC [Jpn] Resolution : 1080P Subtitle : English Subtitles Source : HorribleSubs(Karaoke_Kaya) Chapters : Yes NCOP/NCED: X265/Flac What to expect. --I'm going for good visual quality and still save on hard drive space and find the "sweet spot" so I choose to encode in X265/H.265/HEVC --Sweet spot 100% base on my own opinion, I go for soft look over grainy but keeping sharpness as much as possible. --I will wait for BD version to come out and I will never upscale video files --I will encode audio with AAC VBR Max quality or leave as is if the source isn't a flac --I will only add English sub but feel free to add the one you need --All my release will have chapters for ease of navigation --If my release has an NCOP/NCED file I will encode as usual with X265 but leave the audio as flac if the source was. Enjoy! ps: I have kept the original source in the track name as a thanks for the work they have done!

91 completes in 2 days and only 10 seeders. People disgust me. Fucking leechers. Dunno if the Kaya guy is the one who uploaded this, but this note is for him: If you are truly targeting quality while hitting a "sweet spot" for quality vs filesize, you should be encoding the audio in Opus. I agree that FLAC is usually a pointless meme that wastes MBs, especially for anime where the sound effects and sound mixing are usually... not great, at best (except for high-budget films or particularly well-funded series); Opus is completely transparent from lossless source past 128 Kb/s for stereo (64 Kb/s per channel for 5.1+). Opus can be played back on all desktop player software (especially all of the ones commonly used by weebs, like MPC-HC and mpv), media center software like Plex, and is supported on almost all modern mobile devices. Youtube uses it by default for chrissake. It's now the de-facto standard for lossy compression and has been for a while among nerds. All other codecs are outdated garbage. AAC sounds like trash in comparison. Muddy lows and tinny highs, and sounds even worse during scenes that are heavy with multiple sound effects+music+vocals. It's way too lossy compared to Opus. Just food for thought. Something you should consider if you are truly targeting quality.

Also the karaoke effects on this release are terrible looking and brought one of my laptops (a high-end 2017 model) to a frame-stuttering crawl on a 1080p screen (so no performance degradation from intensive upscaling), playing back on mpv via GPU decoding and rendering, mostly default settings otherwise. Thankfully I can skip the OP/EDs. Video quality is really nice, otherwise.
I was hoping it would be fine since it ran without any issue on my side. But I'm not completely surprised about the opening lagging for some. But the Ending is really normal and simple and isn't suppose to lag for anyone. As for the Opus I wouldn't mind switching but I really don't see a difference between a flac and aac max setting for anime so I guess my question is what good would Opus do? If I get what you said media center like Plex would take opus and not re-encode? Also is the animated gold color in the op not working or is it just not looking good?
It seems like your subtitles was causing stuttering for video players that use libass like mpv: https://boards.4channel.org/g/thread/75796605#p75833808 I checked with VLC and there are indeed lagging in the opening, maybe you should include a sub track without the effects. Also about Opus, it can deliver much better audio quality for a smaller file size.
I went to read about opus right after asking. Sounds nice enough I will give it a try for sure. The sub was something special I was trying, making the karaoke in the image of Alicia since she was the highlight of the season. Not something I am likely to redo. The OP took about 3mb of text to create and I am sorry for the lag been created. It's not a great solution but with MPC you can just hit the "W" to disable sub quick and again to get it back I'm pretty sure most player got a shortcut.
uhm i dont mind little bit higher bitrate and video size if it can increase video quality. let say 700-800 ish mb video size @kayanesa :D
can someone help seeding?
