Was it originally in aac? Anon had eac3 is why I am asking. Seems these audio’s might of been re-encoded.
ChaoXide
Netflix’s AAC audio is higher quality than their E-AC3 audio for anime.
The AAC is not re-encoded.
warui
Thanks, I just checked and it’s way higher. Is this a new thing or did they always have this? If they always had this wondering why we been getting the inferior eac3.
Thanks DragsterPS

Netflix doesn’t use aac, this is an audio encode, the video is a netflix untouched web-dl.
This is a table you can use to recognize “any” web-dl: https://gist.github.com/nyuszika7h/2188627f0860d2e3a1266c2660ab1ee3
and this a mediainfo audio track of Hi Score Girl S02 downloaded from netflix (E-AC-3): https://bin.disroot.org/?68187a7906691e90#3AfP7oStic1DX9xx1NKx942ZXExUp9e8ivZtjBwJiWv2

@sh3ll Your argument is as ridiculous as saying that the 5.1 audio at 640 kbps is a reencode because years ago they did not have that quality available, it has not occurred to you to think that it is a novelty on Netflix and that your source of information is outdated?
gaara27
@warui @sh3ll AAC is quite new on Netflix
Rafawell
E-AC3 has the frequency cut off !!!
That is why releases with stereo audio are AAC that maintain full frequency.
ChaoXide
@sh3ll talking about a subject he is clueless on, lol.
sh3ll
Oh ok, I’m not very updated in this topic.
Is the AAC stream in >1080p profiles ? Using widevine profiles I never saw AAC.
Can you show me other releases in AAC actually on the web?
How long has the AAC been there?
fabrebatalla18
The AAC has always been on Netflix, but before it only reached 96 kbps variable, a couple of months ago, more or less, they added a new profile with the AAC audio at 128 kbps variable, this new profile is in all the titles but only it makes sense for those who don’t have 5.1 audio, of course.
sh3ll
Ok I checked, this is the cut-off you are talking about https://postimg.cc/6yPMt99S
