**Type** : TV-Series **Origin** : ![alt text](https://i.imgur.com/6oixZEi.png) Japan **Release Year** : 2015 **Number of Episodes** : 12 **Publisher** : Sentai Filmworks **Rating** : R - 17+ (violence & profanity) **Genres** : Action, Romance, Ecchi, Fantasy, School **Score** : 7.64/10 (MAL) ![](https://cdn.myanimelist.net/images/anime/9/76493.jpg) **Description**: *There exist few humans in this world with the ability to manipulate their souls to form powerful weapons. Dubbed "Blazers," these people study and train at the prestigious Hagun Academy to become Mage-Knights; among the students is so-called failure Ikki Kurogane, the sole F-rated Blazer. However, when the worst student in the academy sees Stella Vermillion, an A-ranked Blazer who also happens to be a princess, naked, she challenges him to a duel with dire stakes—the loser becomes the slave of the winner. There’s no possible way that Stella can lose, right?* *Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry follows the story of Ikki as he tries to prove his strength to a world that believes him to be the weakest, all the while gaining new friends, wisdom, and experience.* **Container** : MKV **Codec** : aom (AV1) 10bit Q30 (≠ x264 CRF 30!) **Resolution** : ![alt text](https://i.imgur.com/3gx4F8j.png) Japanese BluRay 1080p (u2) **Audio** : Opus 2.0 (VBR @128kbps) **Language** : ![alt text](https://i.imgur.com/6oixZEi.png) Japanese **Subtitles** : ![alt text](https://i.imgur.com/UVy1X7y.png) English **Used Tool** : [NotEnoughAV1Encodes](https://github.com/Alkl58/NotEnoughAV1Encodes) **How to play :** *AV1 is a fairly new format and therefore has still playback and performance issues, especially with 10bit content. It’s suggested to use MPV (https://mpv.io/) or the latest VLC Nightly (https://nightlies.videolan.org/build/win64/). If VLC is lagging: Try increasing the “File caching (ms)” as described in the info.txt to e.g. 1000ms. Mobile Devices or weaker CPU’s may have not enough power to play this file. Performance improvements from the decoder are still work in progress.*

how much it takes to encode this?

HAV1T (uploader)

User
@Opinion it depends: encoding with the tool it takes ~3h per episode (Ryzen 9 3900x), because it chunks the video into pieces and encodes them parallel. Without doing so it would probably take 10+ hours per episode, because aom is not very multithreaded.
Thanks for the encode.
I like that AV1 gets more attention but idk if the quality loss is worth the smaller size and limited range of hardware that can play it back. 2gb vs 8gb dosen't seem like big size difference to make the excuse.
