Yeah... but it actually has film grain unlike the also upscaled Japanese BD by those incompetent people over at Q-Tec

Who knows... Maybe it's just a filter-effect to make this release more "authentical" for fans.

When the remasters are all available, purchasing them would cost me $200+. I don't have nostalgia or a desire to spend that much money on something that doesn't mean much to me. Hopefully, someone else picks up the torch and uploads them.

So this is Collection 1 from Discotek? Didn't realize an upscale could look this good. Props to them doing their own new remaster. And thanks for sharing! Too many people overlook the stellar TV series in favor of the movies.

To be honest, we don’t need rips of the movies, as KG did them. That said, uploads of volumes 2 and 3 of the TV series would be very welcome, since those will be an upgrade over the HorribleSubs rips.

Gonna comment that if anyone has Galaxy Express 999 Volume 2, then please upload them in whatever way possible. It's not available on Amazon right now and not restocking either. I suspect that the same thing will happen to Volume 3, so I hope that someone picks it up before it runs out of stock so we can have a proper, complete blu-ray release for the series.

I still plan on doing this eventually, I'm a little busy with my home life at the moment though and haven't had any time to mess with this.

According to screenshots quality like Yurasyk's 720p DVD upscale. I think there is no any reason to change it in collection with ripped Discotek BD.
