I think only first episode was double. They kinda wanted to cop with the fact that there will be only 8 episodes.

Don't forget to watch sinners of the system 3 movies before this one as well production ig are amazing with SCI-fi and futuristic anime we got the masterpiece that was Ghost in the shell now 3 movies + a new season that is double lenght episodes.

I never watched this anime, would you recommend it?

If you're into cyberpunk or dystopian sci-fi in general, you will probably like it at least a little. The themes explored in the series are very similar to those of the movie/story Minority Report, if that helps
