This arc's release will seem odd without explaining the thought process behind it. The first few episodes are from the 2003 OVA because it has better boarding and directing than the Madhouse counterpart. It also adds some scenes with the Phantom Troupe, which is a treat. Once you get into the first action episode, the OVA falters, and coincidentally, that's where the remake picks up, so I arbitrarily chose to split at the point that ensures the best viewing experience rather than any kind of completionist route. I could've just rounded off the last episode of the original OVA batch, but I couldn't be bothered to check the subs and there's no point since it's just a bad episode. This particular release was done with a somewhat niche mindset to begin with, sorry if that bothers anyone.
