Plot Summary: Godai is a ronin (someone who has failed university entrance exams) living in a run down apartment house called Maison Ikkoku. Among the other residents are the nosy Ichinose, the sexy Akemi Roppongi, and the mysterious Yotsuya. The others are given to having wild parties which makes it difficult for Godai to study. Into this mayhem comes the recently widowed Kyoko as the new live-in manager. Godai falls for her, but doesn’t have the nerve to tell her. As time passes, their relationship slowly develops amid life at Maison Ikkoku, despite all sorts of romantic hurdles. —ANN

Oddly the subs not working for me in MPC nor Windows MPv12. But they are in Emby. Otherwise great collection!

@mrx20xx are they not working at all? Maybe they aren’t loading automatically and you have to load them manually from the subtitles menu.
mrx20xx
@rpgsama It lists them but they don’t show. Using MPC 32bit and 64-bit v6.1. I even tryed disabling and re-enabling. Not sure how to specify the subs, as they are in the same file. I know what you mean by separated subs. It does list them in the properties.
I wonder if they are loading in the wrong area or size ratio is displaying incorrect. I just chanced upon a couple of brief scenes where the sub are in the upper right corner instead of the bottom middle. Font size seems a little bigger than the compact subs I’m seeing in Emby. Not seeing this normally though.

@mrx20xx that is weird, I did copy the subs directly from the ayanokoji (ADC) release during transcode, they may have some formatting that might be causing this with my transcode. In my tests with VLC and Kodi there were no issues though but I did not try with MPC. Will see if there’s anything I can do to fix it. Thanks for letting me know!

@rpgsama No problem! Happy to see someone diligent in improving something they already put so much time into.

Hi.
Just wanted to say thanks for the great work.
It’s an anime from my childhodd, I am so pleased to find it now in VO without all the cuts we had in France at the time.
That’s really nice to see it 30 years later, we can see so much changes that have occured in the world since then, but what a nostalgic feeling!
Kyoko is 60 now, but thanks to this anime, the magic of their story is frozen in time.
I love that anime, it’s amazing <3

i know it is late, by more than two years, but if anyone had asked me, i could have told you this about the subs.
@mrx20xx
i specifically designed them to be used in a standalone bluray player, not MPC. they often have way too much on screen at once for MPC to handle.
this is a side effect of the subtitles being actual transparent slates which are displayed on top of the frame for a specific period of time instead of a band of text being rendered over the frame for the same period of time. Sony standards are a pain to work with and all.
during my testing, VLC had no issues. i also did a lot of successful testing with Cyberlink PowerDVD, but that was with the actual bluray images, not with any encoded rips.
