Orphan and Beatrice-Raws present a new English version of the 1998 ecchi gag series, *Let's Nupu Nupu*. This version uses a new set of raws, encoded from a Laserdisc source by Beatrice-Raws. The subtitles are based on the RiP version, with improvements and more typesetting. The improved video makes it possible to see more of the ah, *interesting* details. See [the blog](https://collectr.blogspot.com/2019/09/lets-nupu-nupu.html) for more information and some screen grabs. *Let's Nupu Nupu* consists of sixteen short episodes, further subdivided into vignettes with recurring characters. There is no through plot. When broadcast, each episode had an OP and an ED. For the home video releases, the OP and ED were jettisoned. The Laserdisc version has one OP and one ED for all the episodes. A "play all" MKV is included to play the individual files in Laserdisc order; it requires a player with ordered chapter support. All Orphan releases are available from IRC bot Orphan|Arutha in channels #nibl or #news on irc.rizon.net

@Draconiano - yes, slightly. Still looks really good. @zetsu_shoren - hope you're patient; it's been 22 years, so far, with no digital release.
thanks. I remember watching some of them in what feels like last millenium but probably was only about 10 years ago.
>mfw I didn't even know what a fucking LD is And here I considered floppies to be old

@AuroraMist - Yeah, laserdiscs are old technology. In addition, they deteriorate over the years ("bit rot"), so it's a race against time to find and transcribe LD-only shows while the discs are still readable. Sometimes, laserdiscs are the only source for a title. For example, the uncensored Maze TV episodes were never released on DVD, and the film masters have probably been lost. Sometimes, the laserdiscs actually look better than the DVDs; for example, the Project A-Ko movie and Slayers. Still, there's always hope. After years without a digital release, the Nine OVAs showed up on Japanese streaming sites in high-definition. Blazing Transfer Student and Technopolice 21C were released on Blu-ray without ever having a DVD release. Ya never know.
Thanks for the info
So... This is what happens when Rumiko Takahashi, Benny Hill, the Fireside Theater, and Bill Gaines meet in a sushi bar, drink so Saki much they all black out, and deny everything in the morning? "It never happened." "It never happened." "It never happened." Bill Gaines: "I've got photos." In regard to optical media... When the technology first came out, libraries and university music and film studies departments were ecstatic; the stuff would last forever. D*mn expensive, though. But if you could afford it, you'd never need to replace that recording. Manufacturers: "Hmm. Sales aren't going so good. Maybe if we cut production costs... by using a far less expensive, and far less durable, plastic for the media? It worked for the record industry, right?" Sales skyrocketed. Archivists felt betrayed. It's not really bit rot. It's the physical deterioration of the media itself, not a random flipping of polarity in magnetic storage media. The discs produced before they changed the physical media have lived up to the initial expectations.
Appreciate this rare work!
