... if anyone wants the manga … it is complete (only 5 vol’s) here is the nyaa torrent for it https://nyaa.si/view/1154164 ... episode 9 covers the manga up to the end of vol 4 ... there are some great plot twists coming :-)
Fail translation at 00:07:03 ijuu (いじゅう [移住]) translates correctly to 'migration' - not 'exodus'. Thereby all makes actually sense; the 'migration' finished successfully (not the 'exodus'). I guess that's always the risk with releasing subs that fast (not that I'm complaining - I prefer subs to having to look up scifi/fantasy vocabulary online which is mostly hard to look for :D). Anyhow, thanks for all the (usually) good and hard work HorribleSub ^^ For those among us that do not speak Japanese (good enough): better download some other sub-groups version of this episode until horrible released a fixed version and watch it again ^^
At 00:07:25 analog: "ijuu wa kanryoushite" (移住は完了して) correctly translating to 'The migration was successfully completed.' (The 2nd line of the translation following this sentence in the subs is correct. Meaning everything that comes after '~was completed' (the whole next line/second part of the sentence) is correct.)
> Anyhow, thanks for all the (usually) good and hard work HorribleSub ^^ HorribleSubs bots probably blushing right now.
@komugi thanks to you, I couldn't wait so I red all the fifth volume istantly ??
Dude can't spell?
@ KeyVinc ... oh, you too :-D ... I tried to hold off, but just couldn't ... it really IS a great story with some fascinating twists @ TheUnseen ... actually "exodus" makes more sense ...since it was not a slow (as in taking up to centuries) leaving ... it was forced and done relatively quickly ... if you need a comparison of what the difference between a migration and an exodus ... look at ancient history ... for example the Celtic and Germanic migrations ... both took place over a time span of centuries ... not in a matter of a hand full of years ... there is a difference between "translation" and "transliteration" ... even though many people "think" they are the same thing, they are not
@komugi I don't get why you'd think that 'exodus' is a better translation than 'migration', but that's up to your unique interpretation of words I guess. There's no room for fancy pseudo-art-interpretations here. Also, you obviously don't speak Japanese (sufficiently) or otherwise you'd never have said this. It is grammatically impossible to say anything other than "migration" in this context (besides that it's the literal translation of course). An exodus is not a "desired action" at all. But the character talks about a successfully completed >migration< and doesn't say "yeah, we successfully completed the exodus"... So I understand your feeling of wanting to "defend" your heroes, but please do it in a more rational manner (oh and if you write horrible they'd simply agree it was a mistake) ^^
@komugi nvm anything I said. I actually hat a huge misconception of the English word exodus. Exodus is exactly the right translation. A mass migration and I simply thought it would mean a form of (wide ranged/categorized) death. Therefore, I owe you thanks for fixing my English vocabulary bug (probably would've never realized it otherwise) :D
