Yes. Episode 6 wasn't ready even in the shiit state other episodes are, so they need an extra week. But they have to deliver SOMETHING to the TV channels and streaming sites, per contract. So, recap. Because you just need to put together footage you already have and maybe add some narration.
with the amazing 3d snake dragon animations ... i wonder what i was expecting from this show, it way off schedule now, wonder how these people manage to still produce any sort of anime in the first place but.. whateves; tons of other shows will fill in the gap.
I doubt anyone could make a decent show without recaps with nowhere near enough time or even budget (They already spent budget on WF's version, so they had to work with what was left of that).
