Styx235 50gb is normal for high quality 20 something eps. If its highly tuned you may can knock 10-20gb off it but its an annoying to find the right balance...

ZippyDSMlee this can consume a lot of space and bandwidth(for those with data caps) so it is little bit too much, 50GB for a 20 something eps show. I got Neko-raws BDs which is like 1/4 the size of this and it looks good enough in my FullHD screen. (not to mention the FLAC and dual audio)

@cybernaut the link you shared was for a 1080p BD encode with FLAC audio which is pretty normal for that size. My point stand that not everyone have unlimited space & bandwidth (yes data caps still exist just like htcguy said) and it is nice to see encoders still offer 720p/ACC version. Doki,FFF,UTW,Sallysubs,Coalgirls,Chihiro and many more used to offer both 1080p/720p for all of their releases. fyi, I pay around 100$ a month for around 250GB of bandwidth

@nabiru3 I respect that but doki's encodes aren't good period. Sallysubs, CGi, UTW (MIA for most). A few years ago I would have said the same thing but I get where you're coming from. I have gsk_ version of this show in 720p and it's about 12GB so it shouldn't even be an issue and if you want AAC audio just get this torrent https://nyaa.si/view/1080124 which is exactly what you are looking for man! Also, have you looked into re-encodes that's maybe something you could look into if you haven't. Depending on the re-encoder their purpose can range. @noZA_ I guess it all depends where you live, as I lived through different countries and never had a problem finding some decent internet plan. Which is why I stated in my last post that he should get the 720p release by Neko-shi since the size was smaller and with AAC audio. As far as Doki's encode, compare them to other release you'll see what I'm talking about. Their subs might be fine and all but the encoding is not their forte. Anyways, enough on this subject I'll let other people comment and do the comparison themselves. @nabiru3 get that 720p release if your data cap is low cause even if you have a dedicated server or a seedbox you'll still need to use that data cap from your isp. Also, I've been using deadfish & noobsubs re-encodes whenever the original fansub encodes are a bit large, but mini encodes are way too crappy (hi10,cleo,bonkai77..) I'd rather quit watching, but thanks anyway for the advice :) @cybernaut I already said I got it in my first comment, and I do appreciate this release for as big as it is, it is still stunningly beautiful, and doki encodes are amazing, I've downloaded most visual key's anime from them, and they look pretty great

nabiru3, 45 GB isn't actually all that big. 70 or 95 GB can be called big torrents. I would call this "optimal". There are games that are 120 - 150 GB.

@nabiru3 I know what you mean. The cable company I have has had this monopoly for such a long time I don't ever recall them not having any competition. What's worse is they give the allusion of competition with several other companies like AT&T and so forth but in reality they are dual or triple-monopolies. So the one I got covers the cable lines, the other company deals with fiber or DSL I dunno, and the other one covers whatever is left, so they create an allusion of competition not allowing others to come in using those same lines to even compete or worse these evil dogs end up suing them to both wither their finances and prevent them from bringing competition. There's stories of these dogs suing even the City itself from trying to host their own internet services making whatever lies to keep their monopoly. The electric company where I live is also another monopoly. They are literally just across the street (jay walking distance) from City Hall and the Mayor and has security guards housed in their building making patrols to both buildings. I recently bought a 4TB internal hard drive tho it was for $109, a Toshiba one. Dunno how much it'll be in your area. I thought the price was kinda tolerable plus I really needed the space quick. @FrostbiteStardust He's only saying that due to his limited bandwidth and low storage availability.

@Kamiyan93 I remember the time on AniDB when the comment section on fansub groups was flooded with people arguing about AAC vs. FLAC, some people used to just love FLAC and claims that it sounds waaaay better than the crappy AAC. I, like many others who don't have high pitch sensitive hearing, can't for the love of me tell the difference in quality between these two, but I can tell the difference in their sizes, so just like you said "bloated for no god damn reason"

nabiru3, it's not just the hearing, it's the quality of the Headphones, amplifier, soundcard and hearing. If you don't believe me, ask Nep_Blanc! (Oh she is such a doll! She's even hotter with headphones on... or off... I can't decide.)

FLAC is great for long-term archival and for audiophiles. The vast majority of the leechers won't care about audio quality, and would much prefer a lower file size for the same perceivable audio quality. Whether you use AAC (!with a good encoder like qaac!) or FLAC is up to what the encoder's priorities are.

I highly suggest (real) anime fans (if haven't already) to consider purchasing high quality headphones and I mean $100+ range, should be the case if you listen to a lot of music. Don't cheapen out on this. You may hear the difference depending on how well your hearing is and you won't ever go back to shitty earphones. I've had the same Sennheiser HD 518 Headphones for 4 yrs now, so the investment is worth it since I haven't had to worry about buying new headphones especially if they're on sale as these were for $69 back then were going for $100 (they worth over $170 now) and planning on an upgrade to the Sennheiser HD 599. If want to go all out get an amp too but it'll cost more. You may be able to often tell bad quality AAC from one another. With FLAC would be the best since you can convert it down to QAAC to a size you can perceive to be fine. As LightArrowsEXE wrote the majority of leechers don't care about these things. I mean if alot of them prefer audio files in MP3 (inferior) over the the better quality qAAC it's not surprising they'd do the same with anime.

noZA_, be sure to also check out Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO. They are very nice also. And if you can find used Audeze LCD-4 would be a great investment too. Additionally anyone who is using those headphones only for anime and music (like I do) doesn't need an external amplifier. All you need to combine them with is a soundcard similar to STRIX SOAR (it has built-in 600ohm headphone amplifier). Another alternative is the EVGA NU also 600ohm). Those two soundcards can drive any headphones. Well I won’t be doing OVA bcz JPBD added whole 5 min extra content (of freaking just recap) which has no sub. I thought of adding the dialogue if it were just recap but dialogue were slightly modified so can’t use previous script. After that I thought of OCR the USBD subs but sadly even that doesn’t have the extra content. So I hit a dead end, nothing much I can do. I asked GJM and said they will do it soon™

It would have been nice to know that this is 2.0 instead of 5.1 surround..... Don't know why people release 5.1 audio tracks in 2.0! It just singles out the people looking for a full surround experience, even though the 5.1 translates to 2.0.... makes no sense to me. same thing with releasing 16 bit instead of 24. I can usually hear the difference using high-quality headphones. Thanks anyways hopefully theyre will be a version 2 with updated audio. Cause I think this show deserves the best release possible.

Oh I didn't noticed that as I don't have surround system and on my QC I just focused on sync. As you can see from my uploads, my experience is in subtitles rather than dual audio releases, Yeah first time doing this :c The reason is I used audacity to sync where the mkv merge didn't give proper results for syncing and it down muxed it to stero by default and I wasn't aware of it. As for now I don't plan to do this. Maybe in distant future I may do it with updated video and audio. But audio will be 16-bit FLAC if I ever visit this project again. Sorry for the trouble
