The movie that started it all for me, back before DVDs even existed. Though purists probably won’t give it a shot, the American grunge soundtrack is wonderfully evocative of the 90’s era, and suits the action well. The story is not overwrought, as is commonly the case with video game anime adaptations. But it flows well and for me it brought these characters I had been gaming as to life in a believable way. Thank you! Looking forward to the grain retention.
P.S.: The story description listed here is… off the mark.

@Silent_Knight - This movie was one of the earliest anime movies I watched. I remember the shower scene being quite titillating as a child. I agree that the story is actually quite satisfactory, especially given the sort of competition it’s up against. It wasn’t until this release that I listened to the JP score, and I’ve got to say, it really changes the tone of a lot of scenes, but not necessarily in a bad or better way compared to the US score. I wouldn’t want the latter to be removed, as it really is a product of its time.
P.S: I didn’t choose the story description. QQ

How is this different from [JPSDR]'s release?
Cinder (uploader)
Well, for one-- and the most obvious difference-- is that this isn’t denoised; it maintains the source’s rich grain. JPSDR removes this, which is a signature trait of JPSDR releases
