Hi, since the MTBB release wont load on VLC, i've used the Moozzi2 ( 1080p and 5.1 ) raw and merged it with the subs in the MTBB release ( eng + honorifics + chapters ), hope you enjoy.
why would you use VLC in the first place when there are better option freely available on the web. I don't understand.
Also why use Moozzi2 encode, it alters the original image.
I don't endorse this release. I would much rather you use Reinforce or something. Moozzi2 encodes his video in a way that goes against the intention of the Japanese studio.
>i know, i’m lazy and i don’t want to install anything else :3
You made a shitty remux and uploaded it instead of downloading mpv? Really? That's not laziness, that's just a shitty ass "haha im lazy not actually dumb xd" excuse.
i'm sorry, I wouldn't have thought that this would turn up this bad and badly received, that's just the way i'm used to watch this, i just wanted to share it if anyone alse was waiting for something similar or had the same setup.
I never got that whole it is against what the artists created thing... I don't care. If I think something looks good I will use that for the same reason I will use graphic mods in my games.
> I never got that whole it is against what the artists created thing
Because it's a retarded and pointless excuse for something like anime encodes. I mean, Moozzi2's style is completely subjective, so there's nothing wrong with disliking it and preferring the original. But using that excuse is just dumb. As another person pointed out, it's also against the studio's wishes to be watching it for free. And so ironic for an uploader to say, who literally distributes their work to people who aren't paying.
@CheekyKoala "I’m going to do a 1080p movie version of this since I think it would be a great way to watch it. It will be released after all the episodes are out." on his 720 uploads
It's fine to disagree with my statement about moozzi2 and the studios' intent, but I don't think it makes sense to bring the piracy aspect into it. I don't want to respect the studio's wishes for the sake of respecting them. Rather, I think it's arrogant to override a studio's conception of what good mastering quality looks like. Studios have sharpeners at their disposal, and they can turn up the saturation knob during mastering if they so choose. But they don't.
Again, it's fine to laugh at me for that opinion and say "I can do what meets my own preferences, fuck off." I understand liking sharp anime. But sharpening really is something that overrides a decision about their art that the studios consciously make, so I can't endorse it.
Personally, I do think it does make sense to bring up piracy and such when the excuse is, "studios' intent". Because that's a vary broad thing that encompasses a lot. More than just what you intended it as. I now understand what you're talking about, though, and just think, "studios' intent" isn't the right wording.
Also, kind of just as an aside, rather than to argue a case or anything...sometimes studios probably just make their anime purposely more blurry because they know their halos artifacts are bad, so they use the blurring and noise to hide it.
well leave the uploader be. anyway moozzi is generally not a great idea, because many people, myself included, dislike alterations especially when done in bulk and without much thinking XD
only herkz seems to be appreciating warpsharp here :P
and vlc isnt suitable for anime.
try that. its decently preconfigured already.

herkz koyo in 2019 btw?
herkz was being sarcastic about the warpsharp. And actually, I like Moozzi2's sharpening. Just not his massive colour alterations he does sometimes. Hate that. Moozzi2's upload aren't a bad thing, though, even though most people dislike it. They provide an alternative for the ones that do like it, while not taking away any options from the ones who like it the normal way.
yeah i agree on the alternative i dont mind moozzi doing it per se . if someone likes it, I dont have a problem, its tastes. but truth is, many will regret it few years after :P
and truth is its generally bad practice to alter video unless a source is widely regarded poor and in need of color correction.
Well, yeah, as I said, even as a fan of sharpening, I hate colour corrections. Except in the rare cases of something like Sephirotic's encode of Evangelion -- where the BD fucked up the colours.
> but truth is, many will regret it few years after
Regret liking it?
obviously i'm joking. even if you like the sharpening, his encodes also destroy background details a lot of the time and there is literally no reason to change the colors is modern anime.
>Regret liking it?
yes. and if they want it archived they ll have to redownload a normal release obviously.
tastes change, monitors change, someone explains the problem to us.
there was a nice comparison with moozzi where stars were missing from the sky thanks to his filters XD i dont have a link atm though
@hertkz
I know you were obviously joking. You hate sharpening -- or seem to. But I pointed it out because the other guy said, "only herkz seems to be appreciating warpsharp here :P".
And I've already said twice I hate the colour alterations. They are, indeed, not needed. And detrimental. I did my own version of Black Lagoon because I didn't like his drastic colour changes.
Denoising is also subjective as well, though. Personally, I'm not a fan of noise when it's noticeable from viewing distance, and I don't see it as detail. Not to say he doesn't ever remove/change actual detail with the noise -- I'm sure it happens sometimes. And it's why I do my denoising within LSFmod, because it does a much better job at protecting detail while removing the same amount of noise.
He definitely does denoise. But I have no idea what filter he uses. For all I know, it's a smoothing like TBilateral, which, despite its description, is terrible at retaining detail while doing the smoothing.
A bunch of weebs whining about video players, what is this 4Chan? It's 2019, there are a plethora of different things that you could have a constructive argument about. Video players for watching anime is simply not one of them. Grow up kiddo's.
Anyone got just the subs?
Also lol at all the jelly people here who wish they could make perfect encodes like moozzi2 does. I'm fairly certain that more people like his stuff than not. The entire monogatari torrent with nearly 200GB (https://nyaa.si/view/1138970) seems to be more popular than the subbed versions. What creators put on a disc isn't intention, it's limitation. It's the reason we prefer BD releases over VHS releases from decades ago. Less limitation. Oh, and pretty much all anime are made at (at least) 1080p. The "anime is made at 720p" is a myth 720p-faggots tell to feel better about their lacking storage space and the only thing anyone will regret in the future is only having 720p releases which look nearly as shitty as what streaming sites release as "1080p".
