The final episode of the God of Death arc, and a much more official benchmark for the majority of the show being subtitled! Yay!
Subbing this show (so far) has been a wild, annoying, enjoyable, and ridiculous ride, but we're finally through the worst of it. Translating this particular show can sometimes be a pain with the poor audio quality and lack of subtitles and other available resources, but it's never not worth it. Being able to translate this show, with its great writing, gripping directing, and fun animation to other people (and partially for my own pleasure) has been like a dream come true. I initially suggested doing this show to SquareAnon out of my own morbid curiosity after watching and loving all of Ojamajo Doremi. I didn't even expect him to take me up on it or allow me to start translating under him, but he did. Before I knew it, what I once had saw as a foolish pipe dream stumbled its way into becoming reality, and we'd successfully released ten episodes, then twenty, thirty, forty... and now nearly fifty whole episodes. The hours, days, and weeks I spend on this have long since blurred. One day I'll feel like I'm never going to get an episode done, and the next, I'll realise I've already done four in the last month, or realise that I did a nice job on a particular episode after getting it back. Anyone who talks to me on a regular basis could probably attest to how passionate and headstrong I am about working on this, and it's no lie. I've really come to love Crayon, and I try putting my heart into giving each episode the care and relatively strict editing I feel it deserves.
And yes, while I primarily only sub shows for my own satisfaction, what Silver says in this episode about the Vegetable Spirits stands just as well for any of you watching—it is in part because you've all been with me all along the way, helping me and cheering me on, that I've been able to make it this far. I appreciate it more than you could ever imagine, and I treasure each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart. Whenever I see people on Twitter talking about the show or recommending it to others, posting screenshots, or talking about their personal highlights... It makes me feel incredibly happy and grateful to you all for your support. If I were to make one selfish request, it would be that you suggest or recommend this show to some of your friends; not for my personal satisfaction, but so that more people can take interest in the show and enjoy it for themselves. I can't help but worry people might be missing out on something they might really like! So please, recommend this show to your friends, bring it up in discussions, whatever; if you draw more attention to the show and can potentially get more people interested, I'd love it. Seeing the occasional new viewer pop up is the best.
Under normal circumstances, I would use this opportunity to provide a 1-49 batch to make downloading this arc and the majority of the show easier. However, this was the first show I fansubbed mostly solo and one of my first fansubbing projects overall, so I feel the technical (non-translation) aspects of the earlier episodes where I was still learning Aegisub do not meet my current standards; there are also a few lines I'd change while I'm at it, so that won't be happening. If anyone makes an unofficial 1-49 batch of their own, I am open to seeding it.
Thank you to Akatsukin ([Mezashite](https://mezashite.net)/[Asenshi](https://asenshi.moe)), Fyurie ([GJM](https://goodjobmedia.com)), and Anonyneko, among others, for their constant support, encouragement, and guidance. I love you all!
On a more personal note, this may be the last episode for a small while, as I will be moving to Japan in two days! A whole new country! I'll be living completely on my own for the very first time in my life! It's just as scary as it is exciting, but everything's looking good, and all should go okay. It might take me a bit longer to get set up there and get back to a schedule of subbing things then, but I wanted to at least finish the God of Death arc before leaving, both for timely reasons and to signify the end of the current stage in my life. See ya around!
