This one is my encode. The previous releases were Beatrice remuxes, but their filtering did something that bloated the hell out of the bitrate for a barely perceptible difference that I can't say was fully positive. This only has a light debanding and the result is 12GB smaller at similar encoding settings.
...what? I saw your comments on Commie's Chihayafuru release about saving size, so I figured I'd check your account and saw you posted this. I'm just trying to get an answer so I can understand your reasoning, as you often mention how OC saves size and whatnot, yet you chose to encode this anime at 1080p using x264. I think most people would agree this behaviour is rather contradictory.
I mean no offense by that, I'm not here to argue, and I don't mind whether you prefer 1080p over 810p. It just doesn't really add up given your previous comments on the topic of bloat.
1080 was better than any of my attempts at downscaling this, which were better than the one other release I looked at. And 810 wasn't coming out much smaller than 1080 anyway.
I haven't learned x265.
This has ordered chapter madness, so the subs will be out of sync after the OP if you try to use this for another release.
Anybody has subs that can be used on other releases?
You set the sign language "sgn" subs as default in OP but the episodes are in english "eng" default. That's why when I play an episode, it plays the eng sub in op instead of "sgn". Btw english default sub has no subs in op, it's empty. Dunno why "sgn" subs has eng subs in all episodes.
It's set that way because I don't like subs in the opening. I added a second track with them for those who want them.
Both have the episodes subbed because this is JPN audio only. I'm guessing if you want English subs in the opening you want English subs for the episodes.
