I haven't checked all the subs either (just 1ep) so idk the extent of this, but I've read VIZ's translation as well as MS's, and I never saw anything like this in either of them, so it's kinda not acceptable ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ah, yes. It wasn't in the translations I have read before so making literally anything other than those isn't acceptable because it's not what I'm used to. That actually pissed me off. Manga readers are the worst. I'd probably accept any other argument as having some type of merit or at least being able to respect it but "it wasn't what I read the first (or second, or really any time, it doesn't matter) time so it's wrong" is incredibly stupid. Like, I could respect "it wasn't what I read the first time so I find it hard to get used to" as long as it wasn't an objective translation error but "it wasn't what I read the first time so anything else is wrong" is stupid.

I'm not saying it's wrong "because it's not the same as what I read first," and I'm not saying it's wrong overall either. Hell, I even started reading the manga after the anime started airing, and I wouldn't mind getting used to sth else as long as someone proves to me that it's correct. I'm just trying to compare the translations and say that if such characterization actually existed then why would both these manga translators ignore it? Maybe I didn't get my point across correctly (sorry for that?), but what's "not acceptable" is that I hear sth in the audio, then read sth in the sub that sounds really wrong to me (things like "ain't"), and when I go to manga to see if I'm the one that's wrong and this is just the extent of how much I understand Japanese, I see that no such thing exists in there. And I kinda agree with putting apostrophes at some points if she's actually dropping sounds, but I don't think that all of the stuff done for this is correct or that it should be persistently overdone so as to ruin the experience for some ppl and piss them off (like you're seeing in this cm section) even though they're using this instead of the fuck-ups of Aniplex in order to enjoy the show.
