### **Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers: Victory - [JPN - ENG Sub] 1-37 Complete** ###
> *Following the conclusion of the American Transformers cartoon series in 1987, Takara, the Japanese producers of the Transformers toyline, opted to create unique anime for their shores to advertise their own version of the Transformers toyline, which began to grow further and further apart from its American progenitor. After Transformers: The Headmasters in 1987 and Transformers: Super-God Masterforce in 1988, Transformers: Victory was produced in 1989.
These Japanese-exclusive Transformers series had been moving further and further away from the stylistic roots of the American series, and Victory represents this divergence at its greatest. The visual style of Victory is derived heavily from the anime of the time, with the transformations of the robots being treated as more monumental, presented through more dynamic and lengthy stock footage. Still frame effects and re-used animation were used wherever possible to compensate for high levels of animation compared to previous series, possibly due to budget cuts at the time.
Despite his apparent death in The Transformers: The Movie, Wheeljack returned during the death of God Ginrai/Birth of Victory Leo saga, along with Perceptor from the original series, with God Ginrai and Minerva from Transformers: Super God Masterforce returning too.*
* Video: 960x720; 30 FPS

Note: As no torrent for this series existed (Edit: here on Nyaa nor on other public trackers, heh), these episodes were compiled from the best source available at the time. This is the complete series/storyline. Recap/clip shows are not included. It's hardly archival quality, but the subtitles are crisp and the image is clean. YMMV. If this subbing is work and you'd like credit, comment below and the info will be updated!
>Note: As no torrent for this series existed,
T-N subbed this series over a decade ago and distributed via torrent till the show got licensed in America (so they wouldn't get hit by a DCMA). The torrent is sill obtainable on BakaBT, AnimeBytes, and other private trackers. You can also download the original files from DDLs sites like https://chauthanh.info/anime/view/transformers-victory.html
> Note: As no torrent for this series existed,
Take your pick:
* on Nyaa, of course,
*or*
* that was available to the general public,
That said, thanks for the info, Machina!
Headmasters was listed here, so it seemed there might be a desire for more Japanese transformative goodness. 16 seeds and 39 completed DLs in 12 hours seems to indicate that to be the case! Many thanks to T-N, if they are the source of this sub! Do you have a link to their information, so it can be include it here?
T-N's sub was on various public torrent sites, they have removed it b/c of the license. I got my original copy on Nyaa back in the day along with the Master Force season they also subbed (which also got licensed). You can find their old blog post archives showing every date when they released an eng sub episode here: http://www.tvnihon.com/archives/labels/Transformers.html
They are still a very active group http://www.tvnihon.com/ that primarily specializes in tokusatsu franchises. T-N's credits are even in the ED of every episode during that few seconds of the song.
You also uploaded an upscale, T-N's release is originally 480p. This 720p is incredibly grainy with lots of artifacts. But that's expected with a rip from a streaming site who stole the fansubs and slapped a watermark on.
Forgive me, Machina, but what is the point your are trying to make? Because I'm afraid IDK.
Perhaps you're just educating your audience. Iif so, I will again thank you for the info! Perhaps you disapprove of this torrent? If so, I'm sorry to hear it. The good news is that there should be a button at the top of the page that may offer you some relief. You know what to do, but as you pointed out, the T-N subs are already available. Also, this site is full of anime that has been subbed, released in the past, deleted, packed and repacked. I dare say the community thrives on people re-upping old and forgotten torrents from a decade ago or more ago.
Regarding the quality, two things:
A check was done when you pointed to the DDLs, and a comparison of the subs there and the rips in this torrent was made, and they are indeed upscaled by a fraction, but *the grain and artifacts are the same as that which is present in the copies your pointed to.* There's no real decrease in quality other than the watermark, *which suuuucks,* right!? I hate it, personally. Now that it's been pointed out that here are cleaner copies readily available, perhaps a V2 torrent is in order? What do you think?
Secondly, as the description states, it’s hardly archival quality, but the subtitles are crisp and the image is (reasonably) clean. **The singular purpose of the torrent is to make the episodes more accessible to the average fan.** No disrespect is meant to the subbers, nor those who were on the bleeding edge and DL'd the original torrent back in the day.
Apologies if this has inadvertently caused you some distress, sir/ma'am!
