But some win more than others." — from intro In the year 2142, the Earth has deteriorated into a murky hell due to an environmental disaster. An elite group of humans has built a fortified, "self-growing" city called Ecoban that converts the surrounding pollution into energy. Meanwhile, hordes of downtrodden survivors subsist outside the city in sprawling hovels under perpetually dark and cloudy skies. It's definitely an improvement, as it contains new scenes, new/alternative dialogue and some of the visual/story/dialogue errors in the initial release are also fixed + Known as *Sky Blue* in the US, but it's almost like a different movie (in my opinion in a very bad way). This happens quite often with Korean movies. Stick with the Korean edition if it's possible + The video quality on the BluRay was a mixed bag: quite sharp lines and edges, great detail (for a movie from 2003, this is all great), but quite bad banding across the whole movie. Medium-strength debanding was needed during encoding. + The English ASS subtitle is based on the official English subtitle found on the BluRay. It was OCRed and ASSified "in-house". However, the official translation is mediocre and soulless at best. Because of this, a decision was made to freshen it up a bit by editing and modifying the translation in some places. For reference, the official Hungarian translation was used in some places, which ironically had at least twice as much care, attention and soul poured into it. One example: *"Grandpa, weird feeling with eyes!"* -> *"Grandpa, I feel something weird in my eyes".* + The BluRay scans are also included and can be found in the Scans folder + *A very personal opinion:* considering that many wouldn't even call this an anime as it's Korean, Wonderful Days is the reason that I got interested in anime. For something that was released in 2003, the visuals are still brutal, the soundtrack is epic, the characters are loveable, and the story is interesting. It's not without faults, though. There's also an urban legend saying it was in production for 7 years with a budget of nearly $10 million. It's a shame it never received the attention it deserved, as the box office results were devastatingly bad. --- Seed speeds are slow. Very slow. Bear with it.
