In the mysterious future, crystalline organisms called Gems inhabit a world that has been destroyed by six meteors. Each Gem is assigned a role in order to fight against the Lunarians, a species who attacks them in order to shatter their bodies and use them as decorations. Phosphophyllite, also known as Phos, is a young and fragile Gem who dreams of helping their friends in the war effort. Instead, they are told to compile an encyclopedia because of their delicate condition. After begrudgingly embarking on this task, Phos meets Cinnabar, an intelligent gem who has been relegated to patrolling the isolated island at night because of the corrosive poison their body creates. After seeing how unhappy Cinnabar is, Phos decides to find a role that both of the rejected Gems can enjoy. Houseki no Kuni follows Phos’ efforts to be useful and protect their fellow Gems. In case Sushi did something weird original subs from PAS can be found here.
The .ignore is there for programs like Emby so they don’t read that folder (you can remove it if you’d like).

Great work!
StudentOfEtherium
judging from the summary, this release is using they/them pronouns, is that correct?
Konack (uploader)
It uses the masculine pronouns. I thought it was weird at first but it makes more and more sense as you think about it.

PAS is working on getting multiple versions of the subs out but are currently short staffed so these will have to do for now.
You can see episode 1 here of their BD release which has multiple tracks including masculine and gender neutral pronouns.

it doesn’t make sense
because it’s incorrect
and if you think it’s correct, i question your knowledge of the language you are translating from
Konack (uploader)
Thank you for your opinion, I shall try to clarify a couple of things.
Firstly I had no part in the translation process, all credit due to PAS as mentioned in the post description.
Second, based on how the manga uses pronouns it would be correct to use masculine pronouns in the anime also so that the anime and manga match. While this may not be entirely the correct way to address this because English and Japanese are two very different languages and the way we handle things mean different things. So yes, maybe gender neutral pronouns would be best but as it stands we are currently waiting on them as mention in a comment above. You can find out a bit more regarding the pronouns used in the manga under culture on this page of the wiki http://houseki-no-kuni.wikia.com/wiki/Gems

Thanks a lot!
Would you please do me a favour and share with me the edited subs only? because i already downloaded the BD but raw, i don’t want to redownload all this again.
Konack (uploader)
Sure thing, sorry about the late response wish this website had notification of some sort. Also the extras don’t have any subs. This includes the attachment files which if you don’t add they’ll look all plain, you can add them on the circled tab in the picture if you use MKVtoolNix GUI.

nAnoMarV
Yeah that would be great help.
Alright i’ll add them. thank you!
