Chimpui (チンプイ) - unfinished manga, authored and illustrated by Fujiko F. Fujio, was published from 1985 to 1991. Originally planned for 60 chapters, but the final two were never finished before the death of Fujiko F. Fujio. It tells the story of two cute aliens that come to Earth to find the girl who will marry their prince of planet Mahl. Based on the manga Production I.G was released an anime television series, which was broadcast on TV Asahi from November 2, 1989 to April 18, 1991. Total released 56 double episodes (112 ep.). The series was also broadcast in English on the Disney Channel in Malaysia and other Asian countries. Also a short animated movie was created and released in 1990. There is information that Mitsuru Hongo, who was the director of the anime, heard the ending directly from the author, but over the years forgot it. There are also some hints in the story and anime about the ending that can be interpreted in different ways.
