^that wouldn't be fair. Today's mods may be good, but tomorrow's mods may be assholes, who knows. Instead, some rules about minimum quality > could < be implemented, even for original encodings, like no-watermarks for instance. I doubt anyone would complain about that.

There's a fine line to walk between too little rules and too many rules. Getting a proper wording of the rules is hard as well, it needs to be unambiguous while at the same time being understandable to people who do not speak English well. We want to avoid the situation where moderators have to check every single release over technicalities like private trackers do. But I'm appreciative of the inputs; I'll bring it up with the rest of staff when I've done some research on how widespread watermark usage is and have a draft for what the rule text should be. For the time being, we're wary about adding any new non-obvious rules because we currently don't have a notification system to tell uploaders why an upload of theirs was deleted. My priorities right now are also more geared towards more immediately pressing issues, so notifications are on the backburner currently.
