Anime targeted at your cell phone. I’m trying to average about 25MB per episode. Why?, well from my website, 3 reasons:
1: Just to see if I can do it.
2: Limited storage space on cell phones means storing files on MicroSD cards. With an average of 25MB, I can put over 1,000 episodes on a cheap 32GB MicroSD card (32Gigabytes, roughly 32,000,000,000 bytes. Of course, when formatted a card is actually about 29.7GB). That’s about 85 “1 cour” (12 episode) series.
3: Not everyone has cheap/unlimited bandwidth. Even at 25MB per episode, that’s 300MB per 12-episode series. If I can make small files, it’s much easier/cheaper to download them. For example, the “Free WiFi” in your local coffee shop can be used to pick up a few episodes without being noticed or blocked.
I do encodes in both 10-bit (slightly smaller files, somewhat better video, requires more processing power to display) and 8-bit (slightly larger files, not quite as good video, requires less processing power to display).
This is part of the filename – [cpa10] are 10-bit encodes, [cpa8] are 8-bit encodes.
Resolutions are either 420 x 272 (16:9 widescreen video) or 432 x 322 (4:3 video).
Frequent Comments:
C: This looks terrible on my computer!
A: It’s not supposed to be for your computer, or your high-end tablet. It’s targeted at a small phone screen, where the small, closely-packed pixels cover up bad video.
C: The sound is terrible!
A: If the audio on your phone is good enough to tell how bad the audio is, you probably don’t need CellPhoneAnime.
Additional series, direct downloads, and 8-bit encodes are available at cellphoneanime.com.

No, no, no! I will not tolerate this. THERE’S A GOD DAMN LIMIT TO HOW SHIT YOUR VIDEO QUALITY CAN BE!
THIS IS A NEW GROUND BREAKING LOW! JESUS CHRIST!

Like if cellphones can’t handle decen’t, at least stream (youtube, crunchyroll) quality. In that quality a 2cour series is somewhere around 6GB. And no one will keep their full anime collection on their phone. 2 or 3 series can be justified for the empty hours of a longer trip to somewhere without reliable internet connection.

It’s 2018, the we’re at the cusp of the AI age, quantum computing is on the horizon, and someone even made 25MB-an-episode anime encodes. What a time to be alive
