Was this actually ever released at 1080 or is this just a 720 upscale? And is the audio lossy or lossless? Some info would be nice on a release that's aprox 1GB an episode.
Ok np, thanks for the info, and the upload!
I d/l the first ep and while I can't tell if it is an upscale because encoding isn't something I do, I did check the first file out in a program called "Spek" and I can say that the audio is FLAC running at 48kHz, 16bit, 6 channels. The 720 ver I have is almost the same FLAC except it is 24bit. I may see if I can replace the audio with the 24 bit one if I can align the audio correctly. Not something I've ever tried.
OK, the audio and video times are identical and I did a 1 ep trial and the 24bit FLAC can be inserted into your video and your 16 bit audio can be removed. I just tested ep 1 and the timing for speech with subs are perfect. The thing I don't know yet, since I don't do this kind of thing, is if there is enough of a difference between 16 bit and 24 bit to be worth my while to swap them all out. :)
Nah, I'm already 56% into the d/l. I can just do the swap for myself. Although from my reading sometimes people either can't tell the difference between 16 bit vs 24 bit if the same audio sample rate was used (in this case it was 48kHz for both the 1080 and 720) or there's no actual extra information at 24 bit if the original was 16 bit. So unless a lot of requests come in for 24 bit audio I don't think a re-upload is required.
But I do appreciate you getting back to me and for the offer.
Edit: And I'm guessing it did get a 1080 release since there are several other uploads at that res. (I should have done a search for that in the first place before speculating.)
@Darkmatter, I haven't D/L this yet, but in answer to your question of 25 hours previous, (comment #1) if the audio track is FLAC, then that component is lossless. (Flac doesn't toss data out the window to shrink the file tighter like MP3 does) As for hearing the difference between 16 and 24 bit audio, most of us old geezers have already damaged our hearing to the point that we can no longer easily tell the difference. (It's the very high notes, the first ones to get lost due to hearing damage, where most of the differences between 16 and 24 bit occur. By age 20, most of us have already lost over 10db of hearing sensitivity at 15KHz - enough that we can no longer distinguish the 1/2 octave of notes that combine to make up a cricket's "chirping" song)
Interesting. I did know that FLAC was lossless but wasn't sure about the actual difference between 16 and 24 bit. Of course 24 bit or any elevated bit rate or sample rate is useless if the original was encoded at a lower level. The new encode may say it's X number higher but that extra space for data is at best, filled with empty space. I do seem to have above average hearing for my age from the number of times I've overheard a conversation that other people were convinced I wouldn't hear. I think this is because I've had migraines regularly since grade 6 and I'm one of about 5% of sufferers that is resistant to all current "regular" methods of treatment. Due to loud sounds being so painful when I have a migraine and even being able to trigger a migraine, I've avoided exposure to overly loud dance clubs and similar things. Oh, I'm sure I've lost hearing compared to when I was young, I just don't think I've lost as much as some people. But at the same time, I'm no audiophile, so I may be too ignorant of the difference between 16 and 24 bit to perceive the difference, even if I can technically hear it. I just recently read about (and am now using a program called Spek, which shows you not only what the file says it is encoded at, but also a graph which shows you whats really going on under the hood. I've found it very handy.
Thanks for the post.
Sorry Seye, but is there any chance you could upload a 1080p version of the OVA too?
Thanks.
Edit: If 10.5 is the OVA then I found another source that did it at 1080p.
Thanks.
Hello, Can someone please seed this torrent? :) because I'm waiting for days now to get this torrent completely downloaded...
I'll seed it back for a long time !
Thank you :)
