This is a 10 bit HEVC / x265 reencode of [this](https://nyaa.si/view/913654 "source release") 255.2 gb release of Legends of the Galactic Heroes, of which 111 gb is actually used in this release (the source release includes movies, as well as other tie-in series). Audio is reencoded to AC3. Soft subtitles and their respective fonts have been muxed into each episode, so you don't need to manually add each subtitle for each episode.
Visual quality in this show is rather variable, probably due to the recording equipment available during production changing and different episodes having potentially messier frames from different rates of production in such a long series. Because of this, I have linked two sets of comparison images; one from early in the show, and one from late in the show, so as to give an idea of what quality you can expect throughout.
Obviously there are some reductions in visual quality compared to the original in all my uploads, these screenshots should help you decide whether the reduction in quality is worth my far lower file sizes.
Here are some comparison shots of EARLY in the show with my encode vs [the source release](https://nyaa.si/view/913654 "source release")
Here are some comparison shots of LATE in the show with my encode vs [the source release](https://nyaa.si/view/913654 "source release")
Keep the file size differences in mind.
The 150-year-long stalemate between the two interstellar superpowers, the Galactic Empire and the Free Planets Alliance, comes to an end when a new generation of leaders arises: the idealistic military genius Reinhard von Lohengramm, and the FPA's reserved historian, Yang Wenli.
While Reinhard climbs the ranks of the Empire with the aid of his childhood friend, Siegfried Kircheis, he must fight not only the war, but also the remnants of the crumbling Goldenbaum Dynasty in order to free his sister from the Kaiser and unify humanity under one genuine ruler. Meanwhile, on the other side of the galaxy, Yang—a strong supporter of democratic ideals—has to stand firm in his beliefs, despite the struggles of the FPA, and show his pupil, Julian Mintz, that autocracy is not the solution.
As ideologies clash amidst the war's many casualties, the two strategic masterminds must ask themselves what the real reason behind their battle is.
