Introduction:

Sword Art Online - The Movie: Ordinal Scale (??? - Gekij? -ban S? Do? To Onrain -? dinaru Suk? ru-?) is a Japanese animated film of 2017 based on the light novel series Sword Art Online by Reki Kawahara. The film, an original story of the writer, was produced, after being announced at the Dengeki Bunko Fall Festival in 2015 [1], from A-1 Pictures and directed by Tomohiko It ?, with music by Yuki Kajiura.
In Japan, it was shown in cinemas on 18 February 2017, simultaneously with Germany, in North America on 9 March, while in Italy it was broadcast to the cinema by Dynit and Nexo Digital on 13 and 14 June 2017. [2] After the success in Italian cinemas, the film was also broadcast on June 28th and 29th. It will be released on DVD and Blu-ray Disc distributed by Dynit on December 20, 2017.

Plot:

2022: more than ten thousand players connect to a virtual game and you are literally trapped there because here “Game Over” means to die, not only in the game, but also in real life. That game is called SWORD ART ONLINE and only a hero will free the trapped players and put an end to the nightmare. Four years later, in 2026, a new MMO game is developed based on augmented reality: it is Ordinal Scale and allows players to immerse themselves completely in the real world, so as to become in a short time the most popular game ever. But strange facts begin to happen and an evil plot seems to infest the game …
