taps glasses* iiya, I kinda agree with stealthmomo's feelings on this. Though the outburst is a bit much, doesn't matter if its animelist/CR/funmation, or here. It's good to educate people from any place and any time. It's really fun and cool to see and learn new information like this. When people are angry and give actual facts, the proper way to live is to be thankful for the extra clarification and just ignore the outburst/anger, there's no reason to be angry just cuz someone else is. Just deal with it and grow up. Being an adult is all about being patient and listening. That's how one become wise. It's quite annoying when I ask people something that I don't get or missed and people don't even have the heart to bother explain anything. Ppl like momo simply care a lot more than others, and I'm thankful for that, that angers just out of passion. I can relate to momo's concern over accuracy and having a proper interest/respect to culture/language, instead of being half-assed and lazy about it. Naming things in a lazy way is just like westerners calling anything they don't know that's asian as sushi/dumpling. They tend to mix up the terms wonton/dumpling when it comes to xiao mai/siao mai, xiao long bao zi, actual dumplings, potstickers, various buns.
It's not that momo wants pple to be perfect, its that pple simply have shit low standards, but I agree with 25thbam that ppl are simply ignorant so they need to be cut some slack for simply not knowing there was real meaning behind words of a language they don't understand, or were fed false info.
Anyways, its obvious the naming is purely for marketing purpos. Asobi Iku Yo! is translated as Cat Planet Cuties. "Let's Play/Let's go Play" is suddenly translated as a title that describes the show, which is kinda like translating a title of a poem into a mere description. Poor translations like that can be quite demeaning to the content and work put into them.
